Somewhere a few months ago director/producer McG was watching people smash their heads in on an obstacle course on ABC's Wipeout and a light bulb turned on over his head. "What If they were in… cars?" he thought to himself.
Now McG's vision may become reality-show reality. CBS has picked up a pilot for Thunder Road, a show that pits contestants in cars versus each other and an obstacle course, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Details on the project are still under wraps, but it is believed that the show will have two teams face off against each other.
McG producing credits include Chuck, Supernatural, and The O.C.. He also has several feature film director credits, including Charlie's Angels and the forthcoming Terminator Salvation.

Sounds awful. Can't they show something decent?
So, isn't this something already covered by the Speed Network, except real people do it for the sport or fun of it with more passion and a direct hand in the operation of the vehicles/competitions? Will it migrate to Speed after a year or two, or is this a tease of what goes on around the country. Monster trucks next? Could always use some more monster trucks.
what will they think of next
Who is McG and why does he have sucha ***ed name? Some of his shows are cool but is name isn't. It sounds like the white friend of DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince. lol
I liked this show when it was called Carpocalypse...:D....it's been done by Spike several years ago in a demolition style show.
