CBS has given a pilot order to Taxi-22, a comedy from Scrubs executive producer Tad Quill, TVGuide.com has learned.

Based on the French Canadian series of the same name, Taxi-22 centers on a misanthropic and politically incorrect New York City cab driver.

James Gandolfini originally previously tried to adapt Taxi-22 for HBO back in 2011.

Gandolfini's managers, Nancy Sanders, Mark Armstrong, Dennis Erdman and Clark Peterson, will executive-produce the project with Quill. Original series star and creator Patrick Huard and his producing partner Francios Flamand will also serve as executive producers.
