CBS isn't exactly known for taking risks, instead relying on a steady diet of procedurals, laugh-track comedies, and reality competition programs where the prize isn't another contestant. That strategy has paid off as CBS annually gets to wear a sash that reads "America's Most-Watched Network."
Risk-aversion is retained in the network's announcement of next season's premiere dates, which doesn't feature anything too interesting to talk about and forces me to write a throwaway paragraph about how CBS doesn't like taking risks. I'd say I've wasted enough of both our time, so let's get on to the dates.

OMG i can't for all these season Premieres especially Criminal Minds and CSI: Miami......<3<3<3
targeting just one demographic like always.
boring...snooze alert
Replacement for Regis?? MICHAEL KNIGHT from All My Children....he's going to need a job; he's GOOD--has great, dry sense of humor.
ncis ncis la and big bang theory are prettymuch all i want to watch so far. i will give hawaii 5-O a shot though as i've heard alot of good things about it
I remember reading an article in the TV Guide about the salaries of stars on television and how the execs of CBS said they would not pay anyone over $250,000 an episode no matter who they were. Tom Selleck is making $125,000 an episode for Blue Bloods and yet they are paying that no talent Ashton Kutcher almost $ 1,000,000 an episode for 2 1/2 men. Tom Selleck's moustache has more talent that Kutcher will ever have. And it is better looking too!
Sticking with NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, Mike & Molly, CSI: Miami, Blue Blood. Dropping Two and a Half Men officially.
is it just me or do others think some comedies look really good until the laugh track kicks in making in unwatchable what happen to live studio audience where if a joke failed it failed and made shows a little more unpredictable and real
i hate procedural shows
Glad Hawaii Five-0 is coming back.
Can't wait for The Mentalist, Hawaii Five-0, Criminal Minds & CSI!!!
Looking forward to Hawaii Five-0, both NCIS, TBBT and CSI:NY.
And for all of you out there, and you know who you are, GET RID OF THE CANNED LAUGH TRACK! PEOPLE KNOW WHEN TO LAUGH!!!!!!!!!
For new shows only Person of Interest sounds good, for returning shows I'm very much looking forward to Hawaii Five-0, The Mentalist, Criminal Minds, NCIS, TBBT and HIMYM.
For new shows, looking forward to Unforgettable, Person of Interest, and 2 Broke Girls. As for returning shows, looking forward to NCIS, NCIS: LA, Hawaii 5-0, Criminal Minds, CSI: NY, the Big Bang Theory, and Blue Bloods.
I'm waiting for all CSIs, Blue Bloods, Criminal Minds, Hawaii 5-0, The Good Wife, The Mentalist and the new "Person of Interest...
"America's most watched network" and I don't watch a single show on this list. What am I missing?
Sept 19 and Sept 22 are being marked on my calendar. HIMYM, Hawaii 5-0, and yes, I'll tune in to the newer 2 1/2 Men. Sept 22 has The Big Bang Theory, The Menalist, and I'll be giving Person of Interest a shot.
nice line up, CBS kicks A**
Criminal Minds and The Mentalist...can't wait to see what they do with Jane.
Thanks for the info, Now I have the return dates for all the shows I plan to watch this season except HOMELAND - Anyone know when that's on?
only thing i'm interested in is the returning Monday night stuff (except for Two and a Half Men, it still needs to go away).. i'll probably check out 2 Broke Girls because Kat Dennings is in it.. even though the title sounds like it would imply the the type of show that would be like a female version of HBO's Hung
Persons of Interest sounds... interesting
Only really care about Person of Interest...of course it's in the most competitive timeslot...sighhh. Want to get into The Good Wife too
Can't Wait for Persons on Interest... Nolan & Abrams Show =)
The only big surprise is having survivor premiere before everything, but that could also be Big Brother season finale week, leading to a possible reality Wednesday Extravaganza. For once in a long time though I will find CBS' Wednesday night lineup fully watchable while I will have no interest in the Thursday lineup.
YAY my monday's stay the same....Love having Mike and Molly lead into Hawaii Five-0. And to love How I Met Your Mother.
better for CBS to be safe than NBC's risks like Jay Leno and Law & Order fiascos any day...:)
can;t wait for how i met your mother and hawaii five 0!! woot woot!
Criminal Minds - September 21: Paget Brewster and AJ Cook will be back!
