CBS, Ubisoft Make NCIS a Game

Video game publisher and developer Ubisoft has announced a partnership with CBS Consumer Products to develop a video game based on the top-rated TV crime drama, NCIS.

With an audience that spans more than 120 territories worldwide, the hugely popular television series will expand its reach into the interactive space by creating a video game for home and portable gaming consoles and for Windows PC.

The announcement comes on the back of the show's season nine premiere in the US on Tuesday, with the Australian screening fast-tracked to air 8:30pm Sunday on Ten.

Fans will be able to take on the role of their favourite characters, and use their special skills and field expertise as they search for clues to solve complex murder, espionage and terrorist cases.

The entire main cast will be depicted in the game, including Special Agents Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon), Ziva David (Cote de Pablo), Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) and Timothy McGee (Sean Murray), Forensics Specialist Abby Sciuto (Pauly Perrette) and Chief Ducky Mallard (David McCallum).

The game will feature an all-new story arc with four original NCIS episodes, written and developed with the writers of the hit series.

Gameplay will include different environments and locations, such as a casino in Atlantic City, or a luxury hotel in Dubai, as players draw connections between the four different cases, solving each of them on the way to completing the entire investigation.

On October 27, the game will launch worldwide for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii and Windows PC, as well as for the Nintendo 3DS in Europe, the Middle East and Asian territories.
