Celebrity High-Five: Smash Star Megan Hilty's 5 Favorite TV Shows

Celebrity High-Five is a new, recurring feature in which we ask famous faces to list their top five TV shows. If you missed the inaugural installment, featuring comedian, actor, and Let's Make a Deal host Wayne Brady, you can check it out here.

For this latest edition of Celebrity High-Five, we welcome Megan Hilty, star of NBC's Smash. Hilty headlines the Broadway drama as Ivy Lynn, the veteran performer who's still trying to make big—and though her character is currently going through a bit of a rough patch, Hilty herself sounded as upbeat as ever when she emailed me her list of her five favorite TV shows. Read on to find out what she enjoys watching, and why each show made her list.

Lost

"I was totally hooked on this series. I got into it a little late so I bought all of the DVDs and watched the episodes back-to-back."

True Blood

"I've never really been into vampires and werewolves, but the drama that goes down on this show has turned me into a superfan!"

Friends

"This is the perfect comedy. I don't think it needs any more explanation!"

Six Feet Under

"The cast, acting, writing, direction—everything was perfect on this show!"

Saturday Night Live

"This has always been a favorite of mine. I'm particularly obsessed with the cast they have right now!"

What do you think of Megan's picks? Did any of them surprise you?

Smash airs Monday nights at 10pm on NBC.

I love this list. Some would be in my tops (Six Feet Under! There's something to be said for the greatest finale episode of a show to date!). What's funny is I can't stand her show....

While I actually like Hilty's high-camp show, I could not agree more on the SFU front. I still say it's the best series finale of all time. Since most of my friends have never seen it, they have no idea. But the last long scene was just perfection.

The last fifteen minutes or so of 6FU's final episode will always be some of the best TV ever to air.

I really don't mean offence to the girl but really, what kind of a brain do you have to have for SNL to be your favourite TV show?

I know a lot of very intelligent people who love SNL. Not all of the sketches are brilliant, but not every episode of every great show is brilliant. It probably reminds her of her childhood, since she said it has always been a favorite. Besides, different strokes for different folks. Also, she is a woman, not a girl. Finally, if we're talking brains, let's spell correctly, shall we? The word is *offense.

Frankly my dear I don't give a damn about which tv shows famous persons like.

I'm a hater sometimes...but seriously...who cares? Take the time and review some not so popular shows that are being left behind by this website.

Love all the shows on this list. "Lost" is the only one that would be in my top five, but there are much worse shows to be watching than any of these.
