The Cheetah Girls 2 is off and running at Disney Channel, where the original cable TV movie amassed 7.8 million total viewers Friday--more than any program on TV that day.
Cheetah even blazed past the debut of Disney's High School Musical, the pop-culture phenomenon that drew 7.7 million viewers in January.
While it's the highest-rated original movie on the network in total viewers, it fell short of breaking the mark in the key demos of kids 6-11 and 9-14, where the 2002 film Cadet Kelly still rules.
Cheetah, which stars Disney star Raven-Symone (That's So Raven) as a member of an all-girl band that travels to Spain, exceeded all broadcast competition that day, with CBS series Numbers a distant second with 6 million.
Cheetah also propelled Disney to its most-watched total day and primetime ever in total viewers. The movie scored a massive 61 national share in the girls 9-11 demo.

I hope there's a third one... :)
Sweet! cool I hope there's a 3rd one my sister will be so happy.
The movie was pretty decent, it is aimed at a certain age level and they hit the mark as far as I am concerned. I just don't want to watch it as much as my 8 and 4 years olds.
the first one wasnt that bad, im not surprised
I'm not surprised that it's done that well considering the phenomena that is the cheetah girls.
I smell a third one... like I care!
