Pudsy Bear and his charity tin take over The BBC again this Friday. The annual telethon, which last year raised over £20 million for sick and underprivileged kids, kicks off with more TV specials and celebrity guests from 7pm on BBC One. So, what can we expect?
Regular hosts Terry Wogan and Tess Daly team up with Radio One presenter Fearne Cotton to front this year’s event. They’ll be joined by an array of celebrities including former F1 champions Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button, X Factor judge and lavatorial pugilist Cheryl Cole, and the cast of the immensely popular film franchise Harry Potter. Assisting in the proceedings will also be a new bear friend called Blush, who we reckon is secretly Pudsy’s girlfriend.
Like most years, the 2010 Children in Need will feature a preview of this Christmas’s Doctor Who special. The unseen teaser will give fans a glimpse at what’s in store for the Christmas Carol-themed episode, starring Michael Gambon and Katherine Jenkins.
EastEnders / Coronation Street
For the first time ever, the cast of Corrie and EastEnders unite in a mini-episode. In it, the show’s characters swap scenery: with the Walford lot turning up in Weatherfield, and the Weatherfield bunch arriving in Albert Square.
Strictly Come Dancing
The celebrity dancing competition salsas onto the stage to pit girl band The Saturdays against boy band McFly. We know who we’re backing; have you made your mind up?
Cheryl Cole, McFly, Kylie Minogue and JLS are all expected to sing in the studio. Meanwhile, performances by Westlife and The Script will be broadcast from the Odyssey Arena in Belfast.
