Christian Slater has joined the cast of new crime drama The Forgotten, as reported by TVGuide.com. The Jerry Bruckheimer-produced show focuses on the cases of the Identity Network, a group of amateur detectives that tries to identify anonymous victims after the police abandon the cases. Slater's character, Alex Donovan, is a lawyer-turned-leader of the Identity Network. In the pilot, British actor Rupert Penry-Jones played Alex Donovan.
Christian Slater hasn't had much luck on TV. He was last seen in My Own Worst Enemy, a show about a secret agent that lasted only nine episodes. He's had plenty of bit parts, too, on shows like My Name is Earl, The West Wing and Alias, but his fame has been concentrated on the big screen. He played a bad boy in Heathers, a reporter in Interview with the Vampire and a politician in The Contender -- so he's obviously a versatile actor. But he's not getting any younger. It was only a matter of time before he joined the midlife crime drama ranks of actors like Mark Harmon, Dennis Franz and Sam Waterston. Let's just hope that The Forgotten is as memorable as NCIS, NYPD Blue and Law & Order.
The Forgotten airs Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 10 p.m. on ABC.

I am glad he will give TV another try -- but, he sure must be gun shy by now! MOWE was really beginnig to hum when some overzealous network idiot pulled the plug!!!!
Personally, I'm not a Slater fan...
my own worst enemy was horrible tv with no logic at all, who wants to see a whiny cuckold as the hero of a show?
I don't know about any of U guys but 2 me... Christian Slater is plain & simple 1 of the most UNDERRATED actors in Hollywood; I loved his -incredibly & unfortunately cancelled- TV show: "My Own Worst Enemy". I'm sure he'll do just G R E A T !!!.
At least, 2 me... the fact of HIM being in the show gives me a very good reason to watch it.
I hope it's a success. I actually was really starting to like MOWE towards the latter part of its episodes.
Why did The Unusuals get canned? That was a great show!
Hopefully this will be the show for him! Fingers crossed for the guy! I like him!
I will keep my fingers crossed for him. I have always liked him. But I grew up in the 80's so he was bigtime then.
Only time will tell
