Comedy Central Renews The Jeselnik Offensive and Nathan for You

Comedy Central has ordered second seasons of The Jeselnik Offensive and Nathan for You, because both are good shows that make people laugh, fitting the Comedy Central brand. Each order is for a 10-episode second season.

The Jeselnik Offensive stars comedian Anthony Jeselnik in a talk-show format; dead babies, pedophile priests, and all races are targets of Jeselnik's "offensive" humor. In each episode, Jeselnik welcomes a pair of guests to talk about current events and make you cringe with blue humor. If you are sensitive, you should not watch The Jeselnik Offensive! Because the talk-show format and topical humor lend themselves to quicker production, the second season will begin this July.

Nathan For You is the wicked brainchild of Canadian comic Nathan Fielder, who uses his business degree and his pretty good grades to give business tips to struggling small businesses. And guess what!? The results are hilarious. Fielder is shooting up the ranks pretty quickly, thanks to nifty viral experiments like getting kids in trouble with their parents by faking drug-related text messages. This show is amazing and you should stop reading this and watch it right now. Season 2 won't air until next year.

There's no word yet on The Ben Show, which launched alongside Nathan For You. But if my very accurate grading of Comedy Central's new shows is as accurate as I believe it to be, it likely won't receive the same good news.

Not for everyone, but I definitely enjoyed the jokes and humor style.

Well, *I* laughed fairly regularly watching both of these, which can't be a bad thing to say about the original programming on a comedy network. Who knows, maybe my taste is just all in my mouth. ;-) Anyway, w00t, as the kids say, I was hoping to get more of each. (Are the kids still saying w00t?)

Talking about renewals, and completely non-related to CC, what ever happened to Bunheads? If they cancel it, I will be bumhurt.

Seriously though, these are dirt cheap shows, it's no surprise they renewed them. But neither are home runs, neither say "quality Comedy Central brand programming", they are noise in the background shows hoping to find another Tosh.0 level of success without doing heavy lifting. CC needs better programming right now, even if it's not Futurama (although I'd prefer it was), the network is eroding its brand without a higher level of quality.

I figured the jeselnik offensive would get renewed because comedy central and it's viewers like shit like that but I wasn't expecting Nathan For You to be renewed, I figured it was too dry and subtle for most comedy central viewers, I'm happy it was renewed though because it's quality programming. It doesn't pander to idiots by exploiting the lowest common denominator like the jeselnik offensive (and the comedian himself) does. The jeselnik offensive just another show in a long line of shows that tries to offend or shock you more than make you laugh and expects the former to cause the latter, however when you're not shocked or offended it ends up coming off desperate and plebeian rather than funny, unfortunately shows and comedians like that are on the rise at the moment.

Excellent news that Nathan For You will be back for another season, that guy is hilarious. I'm hopeful that the Ben Show gets picked up too, I love seeing those old Infomania clips.

I think I'm offended? I am against the entire "show named after comedian" genre.
