Comedy Central Scrubs up

The Hollywood Reporter announced that starting in the fall of 2006, cable network Comedy Central will air reruns of the NBC hospital Scrubs. Comedy Central has picked up five seasons of the show--the four that have already aired and the forthcoming fifth season.

Scrubs follows the wacky misadventures of a group of interns as they learn the ropes in a metropolitan hospital's emergency room. The show stars Zach Braff and lots of mugging, and it features surreal fantasy sequences punctuated by cartoon sound effects.

Although Comedy Central normally focuses on original content, such as the puppet phone-call show Crank Yankers and Dave Chappelle's popular sketch show Chappelle's Show, senior VP of programming David Bernath said Scrubs is a perfect fit for the network.
