Comic-Con 2010: V

The panel: Visiting from V were Scott Wolf, Morena Baccarin, Elizabeth Mitchell, Joel Gretsch, Logan Huffman, Laura Vandervoort, Morris Chestnut, Charles Mesure, and executive producer Scott Rosenbaum. Televisionary's Jace Lacob moderated.

What they talked about: They discussed the whole red sky thing, the whole alien sex thing, the whole hybrid baby thing. You know, all of those things. Perhaps the most interesting part was Rosenbaum's likening of the V takeover to boiling a frog slowly in lukewarm water. Trust me, it made sense when he said it.

Most valuable panelist: Elizabeth Mitchell, I guess, because she was the bubbliest. But most of the fan questions were geared toward Laura Vandervoort, who looked smokin' hot.

Best question from the audience: One guy got in full Clark Kent regalia (to pay tribute to Laura's Smallville role) and asked Laura Vandervoort about how she got into acting. It was kinda cute.

Missing in action: Lourdes Benedicto. But after that season finale, it doesn't look like she'll be returning.

Most exciting news: Even though the panel kind of a yawn, there were quite a few Season 2 bombs dropped. Jack will be more soldier and less priest next season. Chad's aneurysm situation will hopefully be resolved. We'll meet Anna's mother Diana—in her "natural environment." Charles Mesure has been promoted to series regular. The characters are going to form new allegiances in the fall. And the producers have chosen not to be as stingy with the mythology in the coming episodes. Phew!

Quotables: During a discussion of the attraction between Anna and Chad and Anna's head-ripping sexual tendencies, Mitchell posed this question to Wolf: "If you're able to reattach your head, is it worth it?" Wolf responded, "Yes." And Baccarin pointed out to Vandervoort, "I guess you like being slapped!" after Vandervoort referred to the now-infamous scene several times during the panel. Kinky.

But wait, there's more! Morena Baccarin's hair was dyed blonde, though Anna will remain a brunette this season. And Laura Vandervoort came up with the name "Malinga" for the V wine.

The big picture This panel wasn't that fun. But I don't blame the cast—I blame the ballroom, which was clogged with a bunch of people who were waiting to see Fringe and/or The Vampire Diaries. Oh, well.
