Simon Westaway: From Underbelly to your
belly (kinda.)
Four names were on the list which announced the remaining contestants for the show, with TEN deciding to replace Steve Bisley following his arrest for arrested for assault.
The veteran Australian actor, who is currently starring in Sea Patrol was charged with assaulting his ex-wife Sally Burleigh on Sunday, the same night Bisley was named as a contestant on the reality cooking show.
So, instead of announcing the final three celebrities, yesterday's announcement included the retraction of Bisley's appearance and an extra name.
Hotly rumoured contenders, George Negus and Kirk Pengilly are now officially confirmed, along with comedian Josh Thomas and actor Simon Westaway.
The official 18 contestants are:

The show has commenced filming in Sydney, with contestants already being challenged by judges George Calombaris, Gary Mehigan and Matt Preston.
Calombaris said "We're really flattered that this esteemed and well-known group of celebrities want to be a part of Celebrity MasterChef. I'm keen to see how good they are in the kitchen and how they'll cope with Gary and I standing over them questioning their every move. It will be a fun show and we're having a blast shooting it at the moment."
Celebrity MasterChef Australia is being produced by FremantleMedia Australia and will debut on TEN on Wednesday September 30 at 7:30pm.
