Cooking Showdown sent back to kitchen

NBC has decided not to air the remaining episodes of reality contest Celebrity Cooking Showdown, an Iron Chef-like show produced by Sean "P.Diddy" Combs and Wolfgang Puck. The show, which was supposed to air every night this week, received abysmal ratings.

On Monday, Showdown scored a 2.8 rating/7 share in the 18-49 demo. Tuesday, against powerhouse American Idol, it sank to 1.1/3 in the demo, and last night, Wednesday, it nabbed only 1.5/5.

The show featured nominal celebrities such as Gabrielle Reece, Cindy Margolis, and a preening Ashley Parker Angel, as they battled it out in a kitchen stadium. In his battle, former O-Town member Angel repeatedly hauled his gangly, blonde-maned self up onto the different cooking surfaces and posed with his thumbs up.

This is the second high-profile, midseason show that ailing NBC has pulled after only a few episodes. In March, the network premiered the Doug Liman project Heist. After five episodes, they axed it.

Wow, was this a bad show. I was amazed to see the women celebs working the kitchens in heel!

Also, talk about 2nd tier celbs! I didn't know most of them till they were introduced and they I kind of said ho-hum.

Finally, NBC actually showed the final on Saturday. I am wondering where they got the "millions" of votes from since the phones to my knowledge were never open!

Waltore I must correct you slightly, these clowns are not even on the c-list IMHO, they'd be more like d-list. When Tom Arnold is your big draw for a night that is truly pathetic. This train wreck reminds me of THE most pathetic excuse for a reality show in recent memory, "Skating With Celebrity's." Only this one got the ratings it deserved, while "Skating" was a complete embarrassment to the figure skating world and will unfortunately be back, while this garbage will not.

I agree with the above poster. First of all, it,s a lame attempt to rip off the iorn chef show on the food channel and it,s called CELEBRITY??Cooking Showdown What celebritys? They should call it Hasbeen cooking showdown or C-List Celebrity showdown. NBC must be having a hard time comming up with fresh ideas for TV shows.
