Cougar Town to get Scrubbed

After weeks of speculation about Courteney Cox's Cougar Town featuring ever more Friends stars, show runner Bill Lawrence has stirred another show into the Cougar-y mix.

According to E!Online, Lawrence sees his previous television project, Scrubs, as a worthy contender for some cast swapping during the second season of Cougar Town.

"I promise you either Sarah Chalke, Zach Braff, John C. McGinley, Donald Faison or Judy Reyes will be on the show this year," Lawrence told E!Online. Lawrence had no guarantees over whether the Scrubs cast would appear in the same episodes, however.

Unfortunately, Neil Flynn, who plays the malicious janitor in Scrubs will be unable to appear due to his commitments to The Middle.

Lawrence is well known for sourcing his guest stars from within his close social and creative friendship groups:

"We call it the Friends of the Family policy, which is I generally only bring on guest stars that are my friends or friends of the other actors or the crew so that we all know what they're like.”

Cougar Town already features one former Scrubs actress, in the form of Bill Lawrence's wife, Christa Miller, who played Jordan Sullivan.

The two shows seem to work well together as a team. See below to watch the cast of Scrubs and Cougar Town tackle hunger through ... cheesecake.

Do you think television programs are often too focused on the "special guest" feature?
