CSI has Bieber Fever

... Even the hard-nosed crime scene investigators at CSI aren't immune to the itchiness of Justin Bieber Fever. The teen sensation has booked his first acting gig on the procedural and will make his debut during the season premiere as a troubled teen who butts heads with the CSIs. Listen to how CBS slurped Bieber: "Every 20 years, a phenomenon like Justin Bieber graces our world." Oh, how lucky we are that Justin fell from the heavens to bless our pathetic, meaningless lives! All hail Bieber. [CBS via press release]

... Ladies (and dudes with a werewolf fetish), this one is for you. New True Blood hunk and werewolf Alcide will be getting a lot more screen time next season. Actor Joe Manganiello has been promoted to series regular for next season of True Blood, which means even more shirtless dude scenes than this season! Yay! [Deadline Hollywood]

... Former Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress Emma Caufield (Anya) is joining the cast of the CW's Life Unexpected. The news was announced by showrunner Liz Tigelaar via Twitter, the CNN of the new generation. [Twitter]

... In case you didn't make it to Comic-Con this year, USA is preparing a Burn Notice prequel movie focusing on Sam Axe's (Bruce Campbell) military past. How rad is that? Seven out of 10 rads, to be exact.[Deadline Hollywood]

... CBS has cancelled its summer series The Bridge after just three airings. I think the show had something to do with Canadian cops or something. Ahhhh CBS, there's your problem right there. [Vulture]

... Whoa! Nickelodeon is developing a live-action version of The Fairly Oddparents. It will mix real stuff with fake computer-generated stuff and feature a 23-year-old Timmy played by Drake Bell. Jason Alexander and Cheryl Hines will play godparents Cosmo and Wanda. Not sure if want? [TV Guide]

... Showtime is going the raunchy route with a planned reality series following male gigolos in Las Vegas that sell their bodies (and companionship!) for cold, hard cash. It's about time someone made a show about my business. I mean those guys. (Look me up on Craigslist's casual encounters!) [LA Times]

... GLAAD has put out its annual praising and scolding for networks and their reflection of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender characters, and MTV and the CW are doing it right, according to the group. MTV received an "excellent" rating for shows like The Real World: Washington D.C. and the CW received a "good" rating for programs like Gossip Girl and 90210. CBS was given a "failing" grade with gay characters featured in only 7 percent of its prime time schedule. Maybe it's time CBS greenlights my pilot CSI: Fire Island? [LA Times]

Emma Caulfield is finally doing something. Good on her.

which csi is he going to be on? so i'll know to avoid it like the plague

  • parker_kincaid

The Bridge was entertaining. I watched it when it aired on Canadian TV. Good show but not superb. Definitely a bit different, however. I'm not surprised that CBS canceled it but they also did a piss poor job of promoting it, IMHO. The burn notice prequel concerning Sam is interesting. We know a bit about everyone but Sam is a rather large mystery that we don't have too much insight into. The appearance of Justin Bieber on CSI just makes me sigh and shake my head. I just don't get it. I don't get his popularity. I definitely can't stand the music. Ah well, I guess "Bieber Fever" is a pandemic. We need a cure and we need it fast!

... CBS has cancelled its summer series The Bridge after just three airings. I think the show had something to do with Canadian cops or something. Ahhhh CBS, there's your problem right there.............What about Flashpoint ? Seem to be doing just fine. ;)

Justin Bieber = last ditch effort for ratings. Its over for CSI. However, more "Alcide" could never be a bad thing!

  • charles815

thats gonna be the worst episode of CSI ever

  • Loooooooooooost

Justin Bieber is the worst thing to happen to America. Someone needs to cut that fool's hair. Now, about that Fairly Odd Parents Movie... I would watch if it had that same zany humor, and they changed the cast. Drake Bell annoys me so much. Jason Alexander and Cheryl Hines are both great, but they do not remind me of Cosmo and Wanda. But it will have Steven Webber!

  • DaftPunkLover

Justin Bieber is a stupid, dumb girl!

  • Sagerian

Is Justin Bieber playing a murder victim?.......I would watch.

  • alisonfaith297

not justin bieber!!!! i still trying to figure out y he is so famous...

  • docspector

This one is not hard to figure out. CBS knows that the average age of its viewers is like 74, so they're desperate to do anything that will get younger people to watch. Somebody at the network heard that Bieber is popular with 14-year-olds, and the rest, as they say, writes itself.

  • vicbjones

The Justin Bieber episode could be a pleasant surprise, like the Taylor Swift episode from two seasons ago, but I'm more inclined to think it'll be an even bigger bust than the Rascal Flats episode. Isn't it interesting that the network GLAAD gave a failing grade is the network with the highest ratings? Maybe people don't want gayness shoved down their throats (so to speak).

  • DaVulture

I think we need a cure.

  • lovemybubbaboy

Well, a major network has done it again. CBS cancelled The Bridge after just three episodes. Way to go CBS. Why should we watch any new shows that you hype when all you do is cancel them after two or three episodes? ABC did it with Happy Town, Fox did it a few years ago with Drive. So why bother? If CBS, NBC, ABC and FOX don't give a damn then why should we? And now they are promoting that little weasel Justin Bieber on CSI. Glad I stopped watching that show two years ago.

  • KingofIPirates

He's a famous singer and in regards to why he's famous.. I'm not still trying to figure that one out...

  • estella87

who is justin bieber and why is he famous? actor? singer? something else? xD

  • KevinG87

I'll be sure to not watch the CSI episode.. not like it'll be hard, I haven't watched it in years. it's gone on way too long, not to mention the spin-offs. jeez. nice to see Emma Caufield back on a show, her latest movie Timer was pretty good.. even if nobody's heard of it lol I hated the Fairly Oddparents cartoon, i won't even give the live action version a chance

  • Shikady

Oh no! There's not enough transexuals on the TV :(. Luckily GLAAD is there to point it out. And luckily Bieber is going to CSI so CBS's rating will go up from "failing" to "excelent".

  • TroubleKills

I agree with SokkaAppa. Get a freaking life and quit complaining. Do gay persons only want to watch gay shows? Are shows without gays bad? A TV show is a TV show whether there are gays or straights. Watch and enjoy and you won't have time to complain (unless you're watching another ABC show biting the dust that you liked.

  • SokkaAppa

I think the ppl at GLAAD need to get a life!

  • PiperPrueLover4

CSI deserves to be cancelled based on this alone.

  • drrdheroe

just when you thought csi couldnt get any worse
