CSI star busted with lots of drugs

To say it's been a bad couple of weeks for CSI's Gary Dourdan would be a vast understatement.

Dourdan, who plays Warrick Brown on the CBS megahit, is leaving the show after the season, and at the time of the report it was unclear why he was departing.

Yesterday, Dourdan was discovered by police asleep in his car in Palm Springs, according to Reuters. Dourdan's vehicle was parked on the wrong side of the road with the internal light on, and the actor appeared to be under the influence.

Dourdan must have been exorcising some internal demons, because he was in possession of a variety pack of drugs. Officers discovered heroin, cocaine, ecstasy, prescription drugs, and various drug paraphernalia on his possession.

The actor spent several hours in jail before posting the $5,000 bail. It's unclear how Dourdan's arrest will affect the production of CSI.

Gary, you will be missed!! Everyone needs to remember that you are human and every human has their demons. An ASI assessment with a multiaxal assessment would really help. There are psychological factors that contribute to chemical addictions.Chemical dependency is a disease and my hope for you is to stay strong go through the recovery process because, the sun is on the other side. Good Luck and (LPH)Love, Peace and Happiness to all.

I REALLY hate hearing of stars taking drugs, and getting a lesser charge/sentance because they are famous. Drugs kill. That is the sad story no matter who you are. They are not exclusive. Hopefully there wont be too many people following his example, but stars need to realise that young people look up to them, copy them. It's time these types pulled their act together if you ask me.

  • meancoconut

I really liked him in CSI. I will miss him. Hope he feels better soon.

  • animalgrace

    another one gone.

Untill his reality show about his recovery airs. Then there is the reality show about his 2nd recovery, and so on.

  • ca_tucker1982

Dourdan's arrest will not affect CSI no more than the "Writer's" strike!
    Hollywood SUCKS!

  • jui5

Well, it seems with the money and stardum comes drugs use... and this guy is no exception.

  • thunderdeed

I,m sorry to hear that Gary Dourdan is leaving C.S.I. But I have heard that he is to star in a movie about the late Phil Linnott of Thin Lizzy. I hope that he will still be doing the film but it is a bummer there wont be anymore Warrick Brown.

  • GinnyMustang

Does this really come as a surprise to anyone? I hate to say it but this is fairly common in the wonderful world of stardom and riches, I'm just surprised that it took this long for him to get caught.
To be honest, I get a little sick to my stomach every time I read comments that have been left here from people saying that “what he did wasn’t that bad” or “poor Gary I sure hope he is okay” or one of my favorites, “It's really sad he has to leave- I don’t think that will be the best thing for the show” give me a break!!
It is about time that someone finally steps up to show the world that what he has done isn’t right and isn’t a role model for anyone by putting their foot down and forcing them to see what they have done and do whatever it takes to fix themselves!moreless

This article is written April 30, 2008. It goes on to say it's unclear how Dourdan's arrest will affect CSI's production. What? There's only two weeks left to the season's ending and the show has most likely finished all the episodes. On top of that the show has already announced he won't be returning. They wouldn't tell the actor that until they got all the scenes they needed out of him. The reporter should get off drugs and read his own article because that statement was idiotic.

First: CSI is a D@#* good show with or without Gary Dourdan. I'm his biggest fan I love to see him on CSI but as long as I see him it doesn't matter what show he's on.
Second: The truth will be reveal in it's own time. I glad Gary Dourdan had the mind set to realize he couldn't drive anymore and it was beat for him to pull over. So many people lost their lives from drunk drivers or because the person fell a sleep at the wheel. This is not that case no one got hurt just embarrassed.
Lastly: I believe in Gary Dourdan he is a very talented man with a lot on his plate. He has his own Production company. He produces his own music and now films. And I'm sure he has other promising venture he is pursuing as well.

I wish Gary all my best and love and look forward to seeing what develops from his production company. Gary needs to stop wasting time trying to prove himself to the media they only care about your worst the your best. You have to stay strong and focus and true the your art. Don't let this stop you from the greater good you are striving for. That's the only time you should prove yourself is through your art as a blackman.moreless

Yikes, I think he might have been planning to do more than exorcise his demons. This kinda sounds like another Heath Ledger in the making (let's face it, you cannot possibly expect to take six different prescription anti-depressants and sleep aids at the same time and wake up okay in the morning).

  • JohnnyDrama8

Wowww hope he wasn't planning on taking that all at once.

  • Synetech

I first heard about this in a commercial blurb that said simply “A CSI star is arrested for drugs”. I though sarcastically to myself “let me guess, it’s the black guy”, and unfortunately I was right. Way to help the stereotype Gary. Then again, I’m glad it was either him or Marg since Warrick and Catherine are the only two I don’t care much about.

  • soapie13

whaat??? what did he do that for?? that makes me mad!!

  • sonic_nhl

Aw man... ive always liked this guy since he was in G vs E *later called Good vs Evil when the show was picked up by Sci-Fi*I hope he can get his *** cleaned up. I wonder if they will kill him off of CSI :\

  • xtnshun

It's starting to get like ER - losing the cast continuity.

  • Linc-o

I just hate when people talk and they don't know what are they talking about. This is for those who think they're better than Mr. Dourdan by saying bad things about him: you are just demonstrating the opposite.

Leave the guy alone, and please just stop the "they no wiser than my 7 year old son" crap.

  • Felies28

It's really sad he has to leave. I don't think that will be the best thing for the show. Of course it hasn't been such a good idea taking these pills, but kicking him out of the show.. What's left of the best cast ever..Hope he gets clean and maybe can return in a later season.

  • annpo

what a twit! But, if he'd taken all those drugs, wouldn't they have pep'd him up, not passed him out? I don't know how they work, but I thought people took drugs to give them a lift.Anyway, I hope he hasn't killed his career with this dumb stunt. It's always a shame when people self-destruct - and the pressures of fame seems to claim more than it's share.

  • IAMSCIENCE

#1 How do you fall asleep on X?#2 This is proof that these "people" are dangerous because idiots idolize them when in reality they no wiser than my 7 year old son...Hope he loses his career, or what ever you call acting...

  • sexxysaraa

lets hope he doesn't pull that again.. and that he remains clean while he's off the show.. best of luck to him and the other characters!

  • gltyaschrgd

nice one, drugs are great and all, but seriously, passed out in your car parked illegally with the dome light on? that's just asking for it.

  • clos_vf

what a moron. Terrible for him to be caught like that.

  • DegrassiLoverr

wow. I hope he gets help and gets clean.

  • steph3099

he's definitely in line with societal norms, thats for sure

  • kdtfiles

Sad news, but in Hollywood these days a large portion of the actors are on drugs or are drunks. I hope he can find a way to clean up.

  • crazygirl184

Its a shame that they are all leaving, but considering they have been on the show since the beginning you could understand them for wanting to try other things. In Dourdan's case Im sad that he turned to drugs, it totally doesn't help anything.

  • aldaros23

I think he has some personal issues. I don't know but I've been watching CSI for years now, and it seems he has become very "dull" over the years. As in there's no "shine" anymore. His character seems pretty depressed - could this be a reflection of his actual self? I hope he finds some kind of help. He seems like a nice guy.

  • BeachfrontGlass

Now we know why he's leaving the show... The production was cutting into his snort and shoot time.

  • csiomaniacas

it's sad...I've always liked him and I think he's a great guy and he has a future but he hs to wake up and see thet drugs is a very bad thing and thath it's a deal breaker to his future as, not only an actor, but as a funcional person as well...he has to think not only on himself but on his kid too...
    it's just sad...I'm really disapointed...

  • dgranitz2004

All of those drugs at once? One of them by themself in too much dosage can kill, but heroin and coke do opposite things to the heart and can easily lead to heart attack (chris farely). This guy needs to figure out what he wants with his life now: being an actor still or sitting at home doping up, wasting all the money he earned? Especially now that he's leaving CSI, its time that he realize that if he doesn't take any minimal jobs now, he won't have any later.

  • Pixie219

This is so sad to me. I am an avid watcher of CSI and he has always been one of my favorite characters. When I found out that he was leaving a couple weeks ago, I was shocked. And now this. I guess I can safely assume that his own personal issues are why he/they have decided that his time on the show has come to an end. I just hope he can pull himself out of this. I have a brother that was really heavily into Meth...and now...almost 2 years sober...he's still coping with all of the issues that he has in his head. Come on Warrick...pull through! :-(

  • jfm313

Sad. I never saw this show, but being a musician, have watched as many of my friends died or wasted away with drugs and alcohol. It is always the same story, and when the person refuses to get help, sometimes it's for the best if they are forced to. When you cannot even function enough to wait till you get home to shoot up, and pass out in your car with the dome light on, it's definitely time to get some help! Heroin especially never ends well. it has like a 90% kill rate, so save your friends or family members and force them into treatment (Methadone works well for Heroin). Otherwise their life is going to continue to get worse until death or prison. Get on your knees and pray if your addicted to drugs or alcohol, God understands your situation well. He is gentle, merciful, and always there for you, but you have to be willing to find him. I have witnessed many miracles myself.moreless

"if he leaves CSI I don't know where he will find a new job..."

    Burger King?

  • LAURAMARIE63

Wow, another Hollywood type busted for drugs, I am shocked.

  • 47Leonie

I don't really watch CSI anymore since Jorja Fox left, but still sad to hear this.

  • AlkaStealther

the fall of Gary Dourdan...if he leaves CSI I don't know where he will find a new job...

  • m_margalit

The stitch between the Actor and what his character represents. It's an absurd but nothing more. Drugs are poison, and an actor is a person, just like a teacher, librarian or a accountant. Drugs bring death !!I wish Gary all the health and recooperate and get well.

  • RavishingJo

This is sad news indeed. I do hope he gets help and soon. We are losing too many great talents at young ages for senseless reasons.

  • moneyman1982

$5000 bail that's a joke.If that was a simple civilian they would most likely be doing jail time.

  • FrakkingFrakker

Hmm... perhaps we now know why he left the show. Perhaps he didn't take the rehab option that was placed before him. If you don't take it one way, you'll get it another way..

  • DabbleDone

This is sad indeed. He has some serious issues to overcome, and I hope he gets the help he desparately needs.

  • maxiezeus93

well that's too bad good thing I don't watch CSI

  • kazooiedog

TimSpot, you made me lol.But wow. Gary Dourdan, what the hell.
