Actor Craig T. Nelson has made a good living in comedy. The actor is best known for his Emmy-winning performance on Coach has recently hit the big screen with Will Farrell in Blades of Glory, voiced Mr. Incredible in The Incredibles, and played a prison warden in My Name Is Earl. But now it's time to get serious again.
Nelson has signed on for a three-episode arc for CBS's stern blockbuster CSI, says The Hollywood Reporter. He'll play a high-level executive for a New York publishing firm who happens to be the nemesis of Mac Taylor (played by Gary Sinise).
Seriousness won't be a problem for Nelson. His last major television role was playing police chief Jack Mannion in the CBS cop drama The District.
CSI is currently undergoing a major casting change. Actor William Petersen, who plays Gil Grissom, is phasing out slowly, and Laurence Fishburne is beginning his transition as CSI's new male lead.
