The CW got into the scheduling mood today, announcing its 2008-2009 schedule in New York City, and it's sticking with what works for it. That means spoiled rich teens, spoiled aspiring models, and a sci-fi Thursday.
Word broke yesterday that the network was picking up three new shows, but no one knew where they would fit into the schedule until today.
Monday nights will leave the hallways in schools buzzing the next morning, as Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill take over the first day of the work week.
Tuesday nights continue the chatter, with a pair of new teen-targeting soapy dramas, including the much-hyped Beverly Hills, 90210 redux, simply dubbed 90210. That will be followed by Surviving the Filthy Rich, which sees a young woman live the glamorous life of a live-in tutor to a pair of super-wealthy teenage girls.
Wednesday is makeover day, with a pair of Tyra Banks reality shows. America's Next Top Model will blur into Stylista, a new show that sees contestants competing for an editorial job at Elle.
Thursdays stay the same, with the power-packed combination of Smallville and Supernatural. The eighth season of Smallville, which will be without much of its original cast and creators, is looking like the show's last.
The weekend will begin with laughs, as Everybody Hates Chris and The Game kick things off before an encore presentation of America's Next Top Model on Friday.
Sundays get a little tricky, with the CW selling airspace to Media Rights Capital, which will effectively have the keys to the company and develop shows for that evening.
Finally, Reaper can keep their socks on their feet. The bubble show, which recently has had a seesaw ride of emotion, will be back for a second season. The CW has ordered 13 episodes of the supernatural comedy and will air them a little later--season two debuts midseason.

Television in general in my honest opinion is getting worse; Reaper is a great show, Supernatural is excellent and is lucky to still be on the air. In fact if you actually look at most of the shows play to the female gender and that is a fact, the reason men are so entranced with wrestling is mainly because the ***ed broadcasting companies have long been female orientated in programming. I hope Reaper makes it long-term like Supernatural, I am sick of most of the shows out now, all the same crud and most fit specific groups, heck the homosexual community has more programs then heterosexual men in this country.
here in the uk we are behind with these shows. season 1 of reaper is ending tonight. gutted. glad to hear season 2 will be made. love smallville and supernatural, so well excited for the next 12 months.

Right now the CW has the greatest show on tv which is Supernatural and a brand new great show in Reaper. Next years line up stinks because Reaper is a great comedy and should not be back seat to trash like 90210 which is a stretch for ratings in the first place. Tired of Teen dramas, it's the same old song.
the only shows i watch on the cw are supernatural (the absolute best show ever), smallville, and gossip girl. the other shows are bad. i agree with some of you; the cw should put moonlight on the cw. im really angry that show got cancelled. i was already scared they were going to cancel supernatural. u know since dawn (one of the owners of the cw) apparently doesnt "get" the show. isnt supernatural awesome :]

veronica mars is dead and gone.Seems Vampire Shows are destined for one season:In the Heat of the Night,Blood Ties (was filmed for one season;lifetime stretched to 2)And now Moonlight. CW would be wise to pick it up, i think Filthy Rich will tank.

I think they should have put gossip girl on tuesdays as a lead in to 90210 because there is nothing on tuesdays seeing as house moved to mondays and such so they wouldt have very much competition and gossip girl could get it's viewers in that time slot.

when Heroes comes back, bye bye One Tree Hill. the only shows i'll be watching is Supernatural, Gossip Girl, and Smallville.

smallville, supernatural, & reaper are the only shows i want on the CW...hope to God they pick up on CBS's losses & get moonlight fast--one of the only new shows of this season i continuously(w/ of course reaper)

Dropping wrestling will probably prove to be CW's biggest mistake. Smallville is the only show I'll watch on this primetime line-up.
I like Supernatural and Reaper!! Although the first one is better than the latter, Reaper does give me a lot of fun! It's just a different kind of ghost related story! Pllllls CW won't cancel it next time (it is barely able to live this time, sigh...)
Glad that Reaper is returning although I too am worried that the 13 episode order and midseason slot mean that they're thinking about canceling it, but want to give it one last chance.I've been meaning to watch Supernatural and from what I've seen it looks good, but I'm going to start back at the beginning.Couldn't care about anything else on the network. The majority of it looks like trash, reality shows, and teen dramas (both sub-genres of trash). Despite the reviews of Aliens in America I couldn't bring myself to watch it. It looked like one of the most offensive things I've ever heard of and playing only to mildly xenophobic bigots who inconceivably are anti-Muslim and need to be taught that they don't have to worry so much because brown people are OK!moreless

The only shows I watch is Everybody hates Chris (EHC), The Game, Smallville, Supernatural & Reaper. I don't like the fact that they moved EHC & The Game to Friday nights. It sounds like that's going to be the last season for both of these shows.

My daughter and I are such Reaper fans! I'm glad I don't have to tell her it's been cancelled. We really want to find out what happens to Ben - and Gladys, after Tuesday's episode. We think the devil is the best at being the worst!
The only show that I care about is Supernatural. I love that show. But I am glad that Reaper and Gossip Girl are coming back. Supernatural is so much better than Reaper. I do watch both.
Also really glad about Reaper. The 13ep order worries me a bit though. Think they are following the Jericho route?? Hope not. Everybody watch Reaper or there will be hell to pay. :)

Awesome news for Reaper. IMO one of the best new shows this season. CW sadly doesn't appeal to enough of the male audience besides Smallville, Supernatural, Reaper and possibly The Game and EHC. Then again there's always the audience of horny guys watching all the girl drama with hot women. Anyways I'll still watch Smallville, Supernatural, EHC, Reaper, OTH and GG. :P
