CW flips schedule

The CW is flipping part of its schedule, moving the flagging Sunday comedy block to Monday and former Monday inhabitants America's Next Top Model,7th Heaven, and Runaway to Sunday.

On Monday, October 9, The CW will rerun the season premieres of Everybody Hates Chris, All of Us, Girlfriends, and its spin-off The Game. Original episodes will return on Monday, October 16. On Sunday, October 15, the network will run an encore of the previous Wednesday's America's Next Top Model at 7 p.m., followed by original episodes of 7th Heaven at 8 p.m. and Runaway at 9 p.m.

Sunday is a crowded field, and ABC's Desperate Housewives and new Brothers and Sisters, along with NBC's football and Fox's animated block, combined to make things difficult for the CW's comedy block. Chris pulled in a weak 3 million viewers in its October 2 premiere.

The CW's Monday schedule, effective October 9, is as follows:

8:00-8:30 p.m. Everybody Hates Chris
8:30-9:00 p.m. All Of Us
9:00-9:30 p.m. Girlfriends
9:30-10:00 p.m. The Game

The CW's Sunday schedule, effective October 15, is as follows:
7:00-8:00 p.m. America's Next Top Model
8:00-9:00 p.m. 7th Heaven
9:00-10:00 p.m. Runaway

I'm glad they moved 7th heaven to Sundays, usually I have nothin' to do! The only thing, put new episodes on, not reruns!

  • Heavenly7

They need to put 7th heaven back on Monday's. It's my favorite show and I don't get to watch it all the time. I don't watch the other show except for maybe Reba and I can't watch that ethier. Maybe if enough people complain they'll put it back. They need to put it on a local channel to.

  • Taxigram

I am glad 7th Heaven has returned. This is one show where my family can watch and I don't have to hold the TV remote to switch channels in a hurry due to nudity or bad language. I think the time slot change is going to be a killer for 7th Heaven though....please rethink your schedule.

  • zackgreen08

so they are putting 7th heaven and Runaway against Desperate Housewives and Brothers And Sisters, say good bye to 7th H. and runaway.

  • zackgreen08

they should put ANTM after one tree hill on wednesday

  • reedsox18

This is not a good idea.

  • phasetrip

who watches 7th heaven or any of those shows.. lol..

  • grant_man

this is the worst change they could possibly go for. I am a very loyal 7th heaven fan. But I am also a family guy/american dad fan as well. And I will be commercial swooping because of this or I will be recording on one tv and watching on another. CW PRODUCER PEOPLE WHOEVER YOU ARE THINK TWICE ABOUT WHAT UR DOING AND CHANGE UR MIND

  • Tru_Slayer

I'm glad they moved Everybody Hates Chris. However now it's up against How I Met Your Mother which I like. *sets tivo* I don't watch any of the other shows so I don't care. I hope they leave Tuesday night alone. Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars are perfect together. I hope the CW pays for getting rid of Everwood. Runaway is boring and 7th Heaven should have just ended.

  • firefly317

none of these show's are that good. 7th heaven should've been canceled awhile ago.

  • SupaFresh208

what's sad is they put all the black shows on the same night, contrary to belief everybody hates chris on thursdays last year held its own

  • pgsuperfan

    Mondays without 7th Heavan

  • soulfood2dvd

I don't watch Runaway, and won't do so once they switch the schedule. I'm usually flipping between Amazing Race, and Football anyway.I enjoy EHC so I will do my best to watch, but I usually watch Prison Break on Monday's. I really need a DVR. *sigh*

  • Rolfz

And like that, CW starts struggling. The ratings of Runaway are embarrassingly low because frankly I think it is a really REALLY bad show. And 7th heaven also sucks donkey balls. The move will not improve anything. Runaway is a sh*t show and it deserves to be cancelled.I do hope though, but do not expect, that the ratings for Everybody Hates Chris will improve.

  • JetixMasterDan

Runaway will now be against Sunday Night Football, Cold Case, Desperate Housewives, Family Guy, and whatever other comedy Fox airs at that time (I think it used to be American Dad). It'll defintley hurt their ratings. Meanwhile 7th Heaven will probably lose some ratings as well.

  • SuperBilly1

yeah runaway on monday wasnt a great idea....i think it'll have a chance on sundays

  • tvlover89

that is so dumb, They going be facing Everybody hates chris against Prison break!?! are they nuts, thats rating sucide right there. It will never survive, It's sad, for people who don't have Tivo or DVR to record Chris while watching Prison break.

  • Roxxy117

I don't care for the switch because the only show that I watch on Sundays or Mondays on the CW is 7th Heaven (now on Sundays). However, my mom was saying that this is going to be a bad idea, since a lot of ppl are going to be out on Sundays and football games are going to be on and everything, so now 7th Heaven won't get as msny viewers. I hope thats not true! However, vocabdiva and psychicgirl93 think the same thing as my mom....

  • BeachfrontGlass

I hate those 1/2 hour supposed comedies. I didn't watch Runaway because it was on Mondays against NBC's Heroes and Fox's Justice. Maybe I'll watch it on Sundays.

  • Death2009

It makes more sense to have EHC at 8pm, but on monday? This fast switch will mess up ratings bad, now what will I watch after WWE Raw on monday? I would have picked another day or just moved EHC to 8pm on Sunday, its that 7pm slot that killed it, not the day.

  • LincolnBurrows

Well... Now I could watch Justice and Heroes on Mondays or go back to Old Christine. Sunday seems like a bad idea for Runaway though. If this ends up killing the series, the CW will have no one to blame but themselves.

  • jcar03

7th Heaven moved one day ahead a perfect day for it since it is Sunday. The show should be gone after this year anyways and they have to do what they can to get viewers to other shows.

  • doyn

The only show out of both days that should remain is Everybody Hates Chris. Trash all the other ones and forget about a stupid recap show and give us original programming.

  • JosPall

Runaway will definatly be canceled now. cw have made the worst choices...... well thats what happens when part of upn is there i guess...

  • psychicgirl93

That's not gonna work out fo me too well. Oh well, bye-bye 7th Heaven.

  • MadGamer132

hey, good move for the new network. sunday is always crowded

  • vocabdiva

This makes absolutely no sense! 7th Heaven has held the coveted Monday timeslot for the past 10 years. Its completely unfair to the fans to switch it on them, especially those like myself who were waiting for Monday's new episode. Yeah, the CW is free alright, free to tease!

  • telvisnostic

    Not a bad idea.

    Hopefully it works out.

    I love EHC and GF's.

Also Runaway I think should be after Gilmore Girls. It's a very good show.
