Daly rings in New Years with Panic!

Carson Daly is once again stepping into American Bandstand legend Dick Clark's shoes to host NBC's New Year's Eve with Carson Daly.

This time, NBC will be giving you multiple doses of Daly to help you ring in 2007. The network's New Year's Eve will be simulcast on NBC Universal's cable channels MSNBC, CNBC, and Bravo.

The special will air on December 31 at 11:30 p.m. It will follow the network's broadcast of Sunday Night Football. This year, Daly will host a 30-minute preshow special at 11 p.m. that will be broadcast live on MSNBC, Bravo, and NBC.com.

Daly's show will feature multiplatinum rock band Panic! At the Disco performing in New York's Times Square. The MTV Video of the Year winners will perform two songs from their album A Fever You Can't Sweat Out.

"We'll have Panic! At the Disco--the hottest new band--headlining a show that will make our viewers feel like they're right there at the world's greatest party," Daly said in a statement. "I'm also grateful to NBC Universal for allowing me temporary control over most of their television empire."

They are replacing Clark with this duller than dirt mtv reject? I must say new years will ring in with a bore and not a bang. Maybe nbc should find out why he doesn't host TRL anymore, and its not because he didn't want to.
