Dancing stars cast

Everybody get happy feet.

ABC has announced the cast for season three of its surprise smash Dancing With the Stars. The reality series, which pairs celebrities and professional dancers in a footloose competition, returns to the airwaves Tuesday, Spetember 12.

Conservative talk show host Tucker Carlson will team with first-time show pro Elena Grinenko. In 2005, Carlson and Daily Show host Jon Stewart locked horns in a verbal dust-up on the show Crossfire.

Monique Coleman, star of the popular Disney Channel movie High School Musical, will be partnered with Louis Van Amstel. Van Amstel has danced with previous Stars Lisa Rinna and Trista Sutter.

Country music star Sara Evans will dance with Tony Dovolani. Last season, Dovolani and partner Stacy Kiebler lost out to Drew Lachey in the final round.

Singing sensation and self-professed "bad girl of pop" Willa Ford joins professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who teamed up with Tia Carrere last season. Ford was the target of Backstreet Boys fan anger after she broke up with Nick Carter.

Vivica Fox, star of Kill Bill and Independence Day, will be partnered with professional dancer Nick Kosovich. Last season he was paired with Tatum O'Neal.

Harry Hamlin, who recently did a devilish turn in detective show Veronica Mars, joins pro Ashly Delgrosso on the floor. Delgrosso was previously paired with Master P and Joey McIntyre. In an interesting twist, Hamlin's wife, Lisa Rinna, was a favorite on the last season of Stars.

Joey Lawrence, best known for saying "Whoa!" on the '90s series Blossom, will team with professional dancer Edyta Sliwinska. In previous seasons, she helped Evander Holyfield and George Hamilton.

Actor and TV host Mario Lopez will be partnered with first-time professional dancer Karina Smirnoff.

Beauty queen and reality television star Shanna Moaklar will join professional dancer Jesse DeSoto, a first time Dance-r. Moakler is in the middle of divorcing her husband, Travis Barker of the rock band Blink 182.

Last season, football great Jerry Rice overcame mediocre dancing ability with a good attitude and gentlemanly comportment. This season, will Emmitt Smith do the same? He is teamed with the sensational Cheryl Burke, who helped Lachey come out on top in season two.

Last and probalby least is notorious TV talk show Jerry Springer. Springer will be partnered with Australian pro Kym Johnson, champion of the Australian Dancing With the Stars.

Dancing hosts Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris will return to provide droll commentary and wide-eyed bon mots, respectively. Judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, and Carrie Ann Inaba will also be back to receive more audience scorn when they give low scores to popular favorites. In season three, the musical theme will be Latin and traditional ballroom dancing.
