Dave Matthews has signed up to appear as a guest star on an episode of Fox's House. The episode will also mark the directorial debut of House executive producer Katie Jacobs.
Matthews will play a man who was hit by a bus when he was 10 years old. The accident caused him to have developmental disabilities but turned him into a savant who can play piano like a master despite never having lessons.
Matthews has acted in the movie Because of Winn-Dixie and will be seen in the big-screen outing Lake City, a family film starring Sissy Spacek.
The rocker is the latest in a long line of musicmakers who enter the world of the thespian. Jon Bon Jovi had a recurring role on Fox's Ally McBeal, and Harry Connick Jr. had a role on the NBC sitcom Will & Grace.
The episode of House starring Matthews will air in March.
