Days rewards loyal viewers in online quiz

Days of Our Lives knows how devoted its fans are. Now, in what it describes as a first for any scripted television series, NBC is adding value to that relationship by launching a Daily Rewards viewer loyalty program.

Executive producer Ken Corday said it was "an honor" to pioneer this initiative, which is managed by Sony Corp. of America's interactive customer relationship division My Sony.

Viewers who log on and correctly answer a question about each day's episode earn points that can be redeemed for Sony electronics and other products. They also can exchange points for Days of Our Lives merchandise, collectibles, and experiences. Enrollment is free.

Corday said the program was designed to reward the 40-year-old series' legion of fans while attracting a new audience, particularly in the 18-34 demographic.

Sony Pictures Television launched its first such loyalty initiative in March 2003 with the "Wheel Watchers Club" for fans of Wheel of Fortune, a program that now has more than 2 million members.

If Ken Corday would listen to the voice of the fans, and listen to what they want to see, and what characters they want to see, and GET RID OF that DEAD BEAT James Reiley, He would not have to do give aways, and while it is a sweet gesture, it will not do him much good when all the fans are not watching to go on line or do anything that will bring higher numbers to days of our lives. What it boils down to is that fans are not happy, they have seen what was once a great show, and have seen it flushed down the toilet, by a writter who in his own talentless warped mind believes that days of our lives never exsisted before he wrote his first crapy storyline. He is obsessed with characters and storylines that fans are not. Like John Black. If you read the nessage & Chat rooms 97% of them are making fun him and are allways commenting on what a bad actor he is, & how he is allways doing the same lame facial expressions because he cant act, & they are allways making fun of those to. & they dont want john with marlena, that was his doing, not the fans, what they are screaming for is for wayne northrop to reprise his role as roman brady and they want to see roman and marlena reunited. They are screaming for john to either fall of the balcony to his death or reunite him with kate. Fans want them together and have been screaming for them to be together again for months now. SO again I am not just speaking for my self and my personal views, I am speaking from what I see on all the chat boards and message boards. GET rid of JER he is like the Titanic Ship. Bail now!moreless

Well, he is sweet to do this, however if he wants to keep viewers, which is what he is begging to do, he needs to first get rid of his head writter. Which is why we need the following informaion confirmed. can you please confirm this so that if it is true we indeed have cause to keep watching. & Before I paste it, Please listen to the millions of fans who have turned on this show once again after years of not watching. we want to see wayne northrop reprise his role as roman brady and we want to see him reunited with marlena. YOU & JER want john, FANS DONT LIKE JOHN. Read the boards and you will see fans make fun of him. Bring back Izzy B for him or reunite him with kate, she is the ones fans are screaming for. So that said, can you do that and confirm this...<br />

James E. Reilly has chosen to step down as head-writer of Days of Our Lives. He feels the NBC soap has been unable to provide him with enough creative opportunities, especially in the financial department and in the possibility of changing parts of the show's cast. The decision will be made public in the forthcoming week. His contract requires Reilly to stay on as part of the creative team for at least a year after he has stepped down. It is well known within the team that Reilly has made several attempts at altering the cast of the show. The Salem Serial Killer storyline which began right after Reilly came on as headwriter was an attempt at changing the cast. It was never his intention to bring back Abe, Jack, Maggie, and all the others that followed. He was forced to bring them back by Ken Corday which upset him a great deal. He chose to write all those characters back on, but destroy them later on. As we've seen, Abe is now blind, and is rarely on, plus his wife is sleeping with TEK, one of Reilly's creations, Tony is in jail and has been written off, Jack supposedly has an illness and his wife is falling for another man, Marlena is being destroyed once again, and so on. This again is an attempt by Reilly to destroy many of the DOOL characters. His original plan before the summer was to bring on at least 7 new characters before the end of 2005. This were supposed to be two new Lockharts, Austin, Carrie, Mike, and two other unrelated characters; an Asian woman, and an ex-boyfriend of hers. Originally the plan was that 5 characters needed to be written off to accomplish this; Tony is one of them, Jack and Abe are two others, and possibly also Roman and Hope. Ken Corday once again stopped these plans, which was very upsetting for Reilly. As we've seen, Tony has already been written off the show, and Austin has returned. It is not sure if this will be "undone".>> This is the e-mail. Now I hope this is true. Maybe not, but still...I hope so! http://boards.soapcentral.com/showthread.php?t=88449moreless
