Katherine Mayfair (Dana Delany) sure got busy on Desperate Housewives last night, and I'm not just talking about the sex she's been having with ex-stripper Robin (Julie Benz). In addition to the requisite Bedroom Scene, which has been a staple of each episode since hottie-with-a-body Benz joined the cast, Katherine had a Fight Scene and a Leaving Scene. During the Fight Scene, Katherine and Robin bickered over their relationship outside Karen McCluskey's (Kathryn Joosten) house, interrupting McCluskey's "I Don't Have Cancer Anymore" celebration and ungracefully blurting out to the entire neighborhood that they're a couple. Honestly, the best part of the Fight Scene was the whimsical fish-eye shot of everyone looking out through the window at the two ladies. The rest was just... awkward.
But I did like the Leaving Scene, if only because it wasn't as cliche. Katherine has threatened to leave (and ordered Robin to leave) many times before—but because she's a nutjob, has always changed her mind. This time, however, Katherine was ready to make an honest decision: After admitting she couldn't live as a lesbian on Wisteria Lane because "I care too much about what people think," she threw Robin out and offered to accompany her wherever she went. I thought it was a smooth way for their storyline to end—and for both Delany and Benz to exit the show. And while this likely isn't the last we'll see of either of them, it seems safe to say that Katherine Mayfair's crazy-ass chapter of Desperate Housewives has come to a close. It has been one hell of a ride—in just under three seasons, Katherine has been with two of the hottest men (James Denton and Nathan Fillion) and one of the hottest women (Benz) on television. It's been fun to watch her navigate romantic territory, so on one hand, it'll be sad to see her go. On the other, she used her suicide attempt to frame one of her exes for murder, which subsequently got her thrown in the looney bin and for some fans classified her as too over-the-top. And while she may be the most desperate of the housewives, isn't that the title of the show?
What do you think? Will you miss Katherine Mayfair, or do you think it's about time she leaves the Lane?

i wacht Desperate all the time. All the Seasons. And now..is the time.. there is no something special. But..than..cames Robin.. und she are in love with Kathrin. and now..they have to leave. i think..its crap. Robin gave a litle bit *pep* so she has to come back.together with Kathrin
can't get enough from katherine and robin...they're happy together...Finally, after all the hardship katherine went through, she has found someone who will always put a smile on her face and make life joyful again....PLZZZ BRING BACK DANA AND JULIE IN DH!!!!
I really enjoyed watching Katherine and Robin, I thought that they were perfectly matched and a sweet couple! Let's hope they will be back? It's a shame they only did it for only a very short time. They were Great actresses! I will miss them!
I will again loose interest in the show. The only reason I gained interest again, was the storyline of the couple formed by Julie and Dana. Dana has always been a little out of the loop and kind of crazy, but she had finally come back down to hearth , in love and it was so good to see. Finally there was a nice storyline in that show and the arrival of Julie had been so refreshing to the show where people seem to die one after another. Why does Julie's character need to leave ? Is the rest of the cast , I mean the female cast so jaleous of her beauty? Are they frightened to be thrown in the shadow ? That is what I think and definitely no..... I am not happy that Katherine and Julie leave the show. And for what I understood, "Angie Bolen" will leave it too, so again we will end with the fourth same housewives..... AGAIN THE SHOW WILL BE WITHOUT INTEREST to me!!!!!!moreless
I had lost my interest on the show a long time ago, around season 3 probably... Now, Julie Benz, one of the finest (in every possible way) actresses working on tv nowadays, shows up with a very interesting (and hot) story-line in a very entertaining funny-but-human character and lights up the flame again. I think it's too soon for them to take that away from me. I mean, look what they did to Dexter! Wasn't that enough? Stop cutting Benz off from the shows, dammit. As for Katherine, I always liked her craziness. Even though, now she's much more bearable, down-to-earth. I think she deserves a second chance. I'm definitely going to miss her, but mostly I'll miss Katherine and Robin. It was way too good to be that short.
I finally became interested in the show again once the Katherine & Robin thing started. But it's already over!? Seems way too fast...
I liked Katherine, so I'm sad she is gone. Oh well...
I guess Bree's my favorite again...=/
I think they could have come up with a better, more convincing story for her leaving Wisteria Lane. I had a like/hate thing for her. I never did love her character, except from the end of Season 4 till the part in Season 5, when she and Mike get involved. So I won't miss her much. But thank God they didn't kill her. People seem to die way to easily and much too often on the show!
I liked Katherine's character. I also think that Katherine+Robin is a great storyline for Katherine and for once, it needs to end well. But I think the storyline is too brief. Hope they come back more in love than ever.
I loved Katharine after they killed Edie she was the only reason I watched the show! I quess Bree will be my back up housewife.
Jup. I really liked Katherine!
I will miss Katherine and Robin and I will definitely miss the storyline. There is a similar storyline in the novel, Seeking Sara Summers, if anyone is interested. It is about a desperate housewife who reconnects after 25 years to old high school friend. Similar angst.
Oh damn damn damn! Dana was awesome! She was one of my favourite housewife! This is not cool at all! I will definitely miss Katherine!
She was ok but it was time to go.
no no no they can't get rid of the marvellous Dana Delany. But if she just leaves I guess she could come back. As long as they don't die....
won't miss katherine......but Robin ...... :((
Nah, wont miss her much.
I will miss KATHERINE AND ROBIN.. together they were really good.. you know.. kathy alone was kinda boring.. but that relationship with Robin surely spiced things up.. I really really really hoper THEY BOTH WILL COME BACK!!!
Definitely miss Katherine and Robin... Only reason I watch Desperate Housewives these days. Guess no more. But the writers are dreadful with Katherine's character, her storyline was way over the top, only til she hooked up with Robin I was interested.

I will not miss her. The character never seemed to quite fit in with the other Housewives.
is she really gone...??...i think they'll bring her back...i mean she's not dead or something...
I won't miss the way her story was heading. I know it's TV land but talk about ridiculous.
Good riddance! She was annoying.
oh she's leaving? No I won't miss her. I never really saw the point of her. Should of kept Edie and got rid of Katherine.
Did not like her to much so not really
And with the end of Katherine & Robin's storyline, so too is the end of me watching Desperate Housewives again. I was a fan back in season 1, stopped watching it from S. 2 to 5, and only started watching again b/c of Robin's character. Hopefully they'll be back as guests, but the stories that are left do not really interest me that much.
Of course we'll miss her, but they've ruined her character, just like they did with Edie.
Never really liked her so no
