Desperate to leave 90210 behind?

Brian Austin Green, ex-resident of Beverley Hills 90210, will return to our screens in season 7 of Desperate Housewives.

After portraying the character of David Silver on 90210 for the best part of a decade up until 2000, Green will now be shacking up on Wisteria Lane to provide the lovely ladies another object of lust to fawn over.

The 37-year-old hasn't appeared on prime time since he had a supporting role on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles -- this new role will certainly serve to get him re-established in the mainstream consciousness.

Also boosting this return to the screen is his recent marriage to Hollywood hottie Megan Fox -- all signs point to Green being the next must-have silver fox on the small screen.

With the addition of Green, it is an indication that the production team of Desperate Housewives are keen to keep fresh blood flowing through this behemoth of a television production.

Marc Cherry, the series creator, has committed to taking the show to at least season 9. Considering how stale the format already feels in the sixth season, this could present quite the challenge.

Do you think that Desperate Housewives has the momentum to continue? Isn't it time it was laid to rest?

As per the messages below re. Brian Austin Green's last television appearance, this is a TV.com AUSTRALIA article, and Smallville has not been televised on Australian screens since the end of Season 6.

Hope this clears it up.

Writers need to get their facts straight before they go write an article. He hasn't been on primetime tv since The Sarah Connor Chronicles? Hello! Do more research he was in Smallville as Metallo. Come on all you had to do was go to IMDB it's not lik it was a hard thing to do.

I think it is starting to get stale but like the poster below, think its not there yet, but i completely thought it was going to be ended after season 7, 9 is way too much of a stretch, does it even get ratings anymore in the US, i mean ratings like it used too?? personally i love it still, but feel its fallen quite a bit since the first four seasons...we'll just have to wait and see what they give us next season

I disagree that it feels stale. It's getting there but isn't there yet. IMO, 9 feels like too big a goal for right now. IMO, they should've concentrated on 7 first. IMO, it might be best to compromise at 8 seasons.

The format does not feel stale to me. I think if it keeps this level of snappily written awesomeness it could live long past Season 9.
