This season of Dexter promised to provide an exploration of faith and the potential pitfalls of giving yourself over to a higher authority. But after 12 episodes of muddled, incoherent references to religion, it became clear that only one religious element would be given any serious exploration: redemption. And not for the characters; for this season. Would such a consistently sub-par Season 6 have any redeeming qualities? After "This Is the Way the World Ends," the surprising answer to that question is... yes! Season 6 had at least one, and she dropped a lot of F-bombs:

That's right, despite all our complaints about how far this show has fallen from its earlier heights, one surprising element rose to the occasion in a big way: Deb Morgan. Credit where credit's due, Deb's promotion single-handedly made the office politics of Miami Metro interesting again and her sudden lack of narcissism allowed her to pay better attention to those around her. Despite all the Doomsday Killer shenanigans and Dexter's devolution into a bumbling part-time vigilante, Deb spent the season quietly progressing from a surly detective into a nuanced, tragic woman whose strengths and weaknesses make her one of the more compelling characters on TV. Not to mention pretty damn good at her job. (Don't you wish Deb and Carrie from Homeland could go grab a drink together sometime? Preferably at a redneck dive bar?)

Unfortunately, not even Deb's ascension could go unmarred by the Dexter writers, who have now saddled her with this truly unfortunate incest plotline (and yes, you guys, incest is about relationships, not genetics). It was one thing last week when Deb subconsciously entertained the notion of kissing her brother (dreams are not our fault!), but this week she actually sort of believed that she loved Dexter romantically, even blurting out "I love you" during a semi-shirtless hug. While I admit I'm impressed by the audacity of the writers to do this, I can't help but think Deb's better off dropping this thread entirely. Because yuck. "I don't wanna see that!" --Valerie Cherish.

But the bigger story is that Deb has better things to worry about now. Because one major thing Dexter's finale did right was leaving us with a killer cliffhanger on par with Rita's death: Deb walked in on Dexter just as he murdered a saran-wrapped Travis. Whoops! You got some 'splainin' to do, Dexter! Now, readers of the novels knew that this development was a long time coming (and ALMOST happened in the Season 5 finale), but Dexter has not necessarily been a show willing to shake up the status quo too much. So while a large majority of this season has been a waste of time (trust me, in retrospect this season will not age well), it deserves credit for taking chances like this. It's about damn time Dexter was found out for real, and Deb's shared knowledge of his identity as the actual Bay Harbor Butcher promises to lead the show into some darker, more interesting places for both Dexter and Deb. (Looks like an apology note to Quinn might be in order.)

As for the Doomsday Killer... Do we seriously have to spend more time on this? Okay, in brief... [DEEP BREATH]... Dexter survived the Lake of Fire tableau by hopping onto a tugboat full of Cuban immigrants, murdering a pirate, then swimming ashore. Later on, he arrived at that crime scene where Travis had murdered the elderly couple and painted an enormous mural of Dexter on their living room wall. In an outrageously dumb moment, no detectives or uniformed police officers had even entered the living room, which gave Dexter a good ten minutes to literally deface the mural with a hammer, which apparently one can do without making any noise. Meanwhile Travis busted into Dexter's house, tried on one of his shirts (which don't look as good on Colin Hanks, FYI), discovered Dexter had a son, and then conspired to kidnap him. Which he did later on during a Noah's Arc themed pageant while conveniently never noticing that Dexter was still alive. Travis then brought Harrison atop a skyscraper in time for a solar eclipse, Dexter found them, and Travis made Dexter inject himself with a syringe, but Dexter faked it and then punched Travis out. Then apparently Dexter carried a grown man to his car in broad daylight, and finally when Travis woke up in his old church, there was some religion-based dialogue and then Dexter stabbed him just as Deb entered. Whew!

Mixed in with all that was the occasional suspenseful moment, some truly despicable imagery of a sword being held to the throat of a toddler, and more face-palming moments than an ordinary human should have to put up with. Like, so now the Doomsday Killings will remain unsolved? And Travis staged his Lake of Fire tableau so that only a random airplane could snap a cell phone pic of it? He also left a super crucial piece of evidence in a wastebasket at the crime scene? Dexter had to single-handedly do a "forensics sweep" of a crime scene several weeks after it was discovered, at night, and on his own time? Very sensible, writers! I promise, this is my final complaint about the Dexter writers, but if this season were well-written, I'd probably not even think about the existence of its writers. I'd be thinking about story, characters, ideas, and theories. But nope, all I'm left with now is the image of a group of fifth-graders playing Nerf basketball rather than doing their rewrites. Dear Showtime, can you upgrade to at least high schoolers next year?

Back to the episode at hand, newly revealed weirdo Louis's plotline inched forward as we learned that his internship was almost over and he pleaded with Masuka to let him stay on. We knew he'd mailed the Ice Truck Killer's mannequin hand to Dexter (and also hand-wrote the address label in a total genius move), but Dexter still hadn't seen it yet so we still don't know what's going on with that. Elsewhere, LaGuerta assured Deb they're on the same team despite Deb repeatedly calling her out for being a conniving B (which, to her credit, LaGuerta mostly agreed with). Finally, Batista attempted to get Quinn transferred out of the department, which means they're probably not going to be friends anymore. And in a development I truly wasn't expecting, Jamie survived the season! I did not see that coming.
Unlike the conclusion of Season 5 (which, if I'm being honest, I thought was pretty decent up until the ending kinda blew it), this lackluster season actually left us with a strong and tantalizing hook for next year. I'm very interested to see how Deb handles her new situation and I'm holding out hope that she'll continue to make up for what the title character has been slowly losing lately: our interest.

RANDOM BLOOD SPLATTERS:
... Did Miami P.D. run out of binoculars? Or helicopters?
... Was any part of you hoping that Deb would throw LaGuerta off that building?
... How easy is it to fake an arterial injection?
... Can we all pretend most of this didn't happen, up to and including my recaps? I think we'd all be better off. Hey, let's all go out for pizza and talk about other things! Like pizza!

What a disappointing mess, season 6 was. They started off with a serial killer whose nickname was lifted from Thomas Harris novel, and if that wasn't derivative enough, they moved from there to a plodding religiously-maniacal duo, whose big secret was obvious by the third episode to everyone who had ever seen The Sixth Sense, or Psycho or a dozen or so other movies. They turned poor Quinn, into the most incompetent cop in Miami. Remember when he was "the fucking witness whisperer," or the only one since Doakes to see through Dexter's facade? He might have been a little dirty, but he wasn't stupid.
But those weren't the worst offenses. They transformed our "neat monster" into a sloppy one, and managed to insult the intelligence of their viewers by ruining the once witty voiceovers that used to give us a glimpse into Dexter's singular point of view. Dahmerland, anybody? What we got in Season 6 were instant recaps for viewers who may have gotten up for a beer, or to channel surf because the pace was so slow.
And as for what they did to poor, Deb, I can only say oy vey. Instead of picking up where Season 5 left off, with the hint that even if Deb didn't go "behind the curtain" she was at least harboring a suspicion, season 6 started with Deb as oblivious as ever. And while Quinn, once upon a time, had had a photo of Dex and Lumen throwing black plastic bags off the Slice of Life, that too was never mentioned.
Instead Deb and Quinn break up. Quinn goes into an alcohol fueled bimbo-binge and Deb goes to therapy. Therapy had possibilities. Deb might have begun to put the pieces together, dreaming about the conversation between the ITK and Dexter that happened when she was asleep on the table, and suddenly all the clues could have crashed into her consciousness and that "Oh my God!" we heard in the season previews would have made sense. Instead the world's worst therapist helps her come to the realization that she is (gasp) in love with her (adopted) brother. While the best Dexter parodies had long ago glommed onto the uncomfortable closeness of the two, it worked much better as an implied piece of Deb's baggage. Now, it's just something that will have to be dealt with and can't end well. If we are now supposed to believe that Deb's rationale for not turning in her brother will be that she is now too besotted by him, I will kill my television. They've already worked hard enough at getting her to accept life's gray areas, and besides adopted or biological, ick. They were raised together, in Deb's case since birth. It's still Jerry Springer territory.
So the question is, assuming they fire the writers and/or pay anything to get Melissa Rosenberg back, how can they dig their way out of this mess?moreless
Dexter Season 6 or one the most drastic fall in quality for a tv show
i have just finished watching season 6 as i decided to wait until all the episodes were out so i didnt have to wait to watch week by week. As soon as it finished i came on here to see what tv.com thought and am shocked to find out your views!!!! i thought this season was incredible!!!! it makes such a difference not having to watch it week by week and i think thats where u guys missed out! my jaw hit the floor at the end and i thought the geller being dead twist was huge!!! season 5 was pants and i dont even remember what it was about and i wont even touch on the miguel season 3 fiasco of a series but this was was amazing and apart from some loose plotlines dexter is a serial killer who works for miami metro and over the past 6 seasons anyone who is moaning at some things being implausable it all is!!!! its a tv series made for entertainment! so put the fine tooth combs away and enjoy dexter!!!! roll on season 7!!!!!!!!moreless
It really doesn't make it better. I did the same thing, and I think the season is not good. It isn't cohesive with the other good seasons, which is part of the same problems I had with 3, the Miguel crap.
PS: sloppy direction and film making - Notice how when Travis is killing the "wh**e" in the boat, the blood splatters on her shirt even before he begins to slice her throat. :D
It is definitely bad writing. The first half and the second half of the season was just inconsistent. They showed this artistic tableau's all through the first half, and then as soon as they show Prof Gellar was an imagination, Travis gets sloppy with all his stage murders.
And mostly what disturbs me is, they create this huge hype about the stage murders in the last few episodes, that does not live upto the mark. Wormwood...? I mean common... my fart could have done more damage than that :P... Lake of fire...? a small circle 7 miles off the shore? Who did he expect to see it 7 miles offshore? :D... Finally Doomsday... his so called "end of the world" where he luckily finds a kid that he wouldn't have had if he had not visited dexters house. And how is that basket and kid gonna lead to the end of the world??!?!?!?
Silly I say!
They should have given Rita more screen time than to be a naggy wife. They took her away even before their married life began.moreless
My god, what can I say that hasn't been said already. The season was a complete clutsterfuck, and the only thing it accomplished was Deb catching Dexter in the act, which honestly should have happened at the end of last season. Everything from the beginning to before the last minute was just gimmicky plot filler. I've always known this, but this season really showed how insanely bad the secondary characters are, and I think I actually miss Rita! As fed up as I was with Rita in the past seasons, I think I would rather watch a Rita scene than anything with Quinn, Batista, or LaGuerta. There is plenty of more to say about how bad it was, but I'm not wasting my breath. I've watched for six full seasons, and I'm going to keep watching until the end, no matter how bad it gets. With that being said, I do hope show gets back on track next season, and not have some gimmick plot theme like religion water it down.
This may be a little off topic with the quality of the show, but has Deb lost her hotness? In season 1-4, I thought she was really beautiful, but ever since season 5, I'm not seeing it anymore. Does anybody else see this, or is it just me?moreless
Most of the season was quite forgettable but I have to agree the last episode (despite the writers leaving convenient clues for Dexter - Terra Nova much?) the cliffhanger was one HELL of a cliff hanger! And FINALLY Debra's character showed SOME depth, even if it was a weird incest plotline.
This season is much better than past ones.
I hope Dexter gets rid of Travis' cellphone that has a VIDEO MESSAGE ON IT (from Dexter) What an idiot.
Jamie survived!!! I was so sure she was gonna die.
BRING RYAN BACK so her a Louis can get up to some crazy shenanigans and recreate some ice truck killer killings and stuff :P
I'm just gonna say... Deb walking in... Whoa. I'll be watching season 7 because I have to see where that plotline will go.
it's obvious deb is hopeless when it comes to love matters, i dnt get why y'all are so surprised... i mean 1st that old guy(depressing) , then quinn(just stupid) , now DEX!(disgusting) ...next will probably be MASUKA*!
Look. Im no fan of Dexter, Im not going to go around defending the series, but I dont understand all the hate. Yes, somethings were awful...mostly the writting, but it was a fun season. It wasnt excelent or memorable, it was fun, and I liked the cliffhanger...lets hope the writters can pull a great season 7, because they already have something really interesting and it could be great if done well.
I dont mind the incest...its a show about a serial killer dudes, you have problem with incest but no problem at all about a guy killing people?
While I still support the incest plot with Debra, as I support this season. I just wanted to clear something up. I'll admit that I'm doing it entirely based off of what I remember and didn't bother to re-watch the episodes. Dexter is half-related to Debra by blood. Back when Dexter was checking into who his mother was in the archives, he found out that she was a CI for his father. He also found out, from the old lady who Dexter gave a mercy kill to in the hospital by injecting something into the cake that she loved so much, that his father wasn't exactly faithful to his wife. He found out that his father had sex with his mother and then she was pregnant with him, but he choose to keep it a secret from Debra because he knew she idolized him and didn't want to ruin her image of her father. That's why the incest plot will work out because it will bring to this to light for Debra. I forgot about this fact for a while too, but since I liked the season I knew they were going to go somewhere with it, and once I remembered all the facts from previous seasons, I knew where they were going with it.moreless
I have only recently started watching Dexter and I have watchedseasons 1-6 in the last month, all the episodes are still wuite fresh in my mind. I would like to mention that it was not proven as factual that Dexters adoptive father was actually his biological father. Like a lot of plots left hanging with Dexter, it is only left for the viewers to assume this is the case. If Dexter and Debs were to get together, which iI think s highly unlikely but I might be worng it wouldnt actually be illegal, frowed upon and probably not accepted though.
no your wrong in the fact that they not blood related because he inherits a house off a guy who had died of a heart attack and he is his father because he has a dna test done to make sure its in season 1 or 2 i cant remember
Its not even incest. I used to hook up with my step niece(she was older than me). still only genetics determine incest
Wtf?? Are you for real?
geez, lol
Eeeeeeewwww JRays! Hooking up with any family member is so so so wrong. You sound proud of yourself for doing it to top it off. Get help!
To me, this show ended in season 4. Season 5 is without a doubt one of the worst seasons I've ever watched from any show (I can only think on 24's season 6 as an even worst season than dexter's season 5). Season 6 was ok (not great, just ok) until the last 2 episodes. Doesn't even look like Dexter anymore. What the f*ck is up with that incest thing? They're siblings for f*ck sakes! So what if they're not biological siblings? Dexter was adopted when he was what, his son's age? And Debra is younger than him. Besides, in previous seasons there was no indication that Debra had feelings for him (other than brother sister love that is). It's just ***ed.
I'll keep watching it just because the time I've already invested on this show, but I don't have any expectations anymore. Damn you people who took over the show after season 4 (Many Cotto and all other producers - Michael C. Hall included). You did it. You destroyed one of the best tv series in the history of television. Congrats!!!moreless
Actually they are goin more along the lines of the books than the first few seasons are and for the plots that will come later on they needed to bring the Deb being in love with him. However in the later books they do get better so with some luck the show will get better.
I can only agree. This season was truly horrible. I almost stopped watching somewhere around episode six or seven and would have given up on the show as a whole if it hadn't been for the discovery that Deb made in those last few seconds. However...and I really am very serious...they have just one episode to convince me next season is going to be worth watching. I am not going to fall for it again. So: lose the "I love my brother" crap, lose the Quinn (oh, I'm so irresponsible, 'cause I lost the love of my life) vs. Batista nonsense and please, please, please write something that's possible in stead of something that's extremely unlikely even for escape artists, magicians, fairy tale characters and the invisible man. Please bring the old, solid storylines back!moreless
Re: Dexter/Deb - As a devout Gleek, I know a thing or two about bad writing. That said, the Deb loves Dexter plot isn't bad writing- it's just something that I don't want to see.
In a way, this plot line is genius. It fits so well with Deb's character that it almost seemed as though they'd been setting this up for years. It didn't come from nowhere. There are so many women who have bad relationships with their fathers, and end up sleeping with older men in order to attain the approval, or the feelings of protection that they never received from their fathers. If Dexter and Deb were real people, then any psychologist would look at her situation and try to address the nature of her feelings for her brother. Thus, this plot was not poorly written- quite the contrary even.
THAT SAID, I just don't want to see this. I cringed when I saw where this was going and I just do not want the show to explore this anymore. Take a page from Glee's playbook, and just don't mention this development ever again, or wait two seasons and have Deb randomly say, "Hey bro, remember when I was in love with you two years ago? That was hilarious"moreless
I think people here at Tv.Com need a vacation with no TV !
Loved the season and the finale. In fact, been a long time since i agreed with any text here...
Agreed. For so long TV.com has just been a haven for TV bashers. I come to this site for the message boards, but no matter what show I choose to follow, It's just a bunch of critics (and sometimes commenters b*tching about them.
It's true that they trash talk most of the shows they are commenting on, and even when they say they like one it doesn't feel genuine, but I have to agree with the assessment of Dexter's season 6: it was just really aweful.
Why? Because Dexter just doesn't act like himself anymore. He started out as a sociopath/psychopath trying to hide his need for killing people by only choosing those who escaped from the police. By doing so he managed to stay off the law enforcement radar and lived a moderately normal and emotionless life during his day job. But now he is showing such a range of emotion on a regular basis, it's a miracle. You know, for someone who's supposedly not able to feel empathy. And every time I tuned in to the next episode, I had the teaser echoing in my head: "I'm feeling like my old self again. Renewed, recharged, refocused.". Which he just isn't - just look at the main storyline of season 6: Dexter hunting DDK. Wasn't he supposed to hunt down criminals who eluded justice? That whole "hunt" was a waste of time. Of course he had to get caught if he hunts the same criminals the cops are after! Isn't that exactly why Harry taught him the code??? So yeah, sometimes the staff is hard on a TV show, but Dexter can do better. We've seen those other great seasons. And I think that's what upsets so many fans (including me).moreless
The season was proving that Dexter also has a Light to his Darkness. That was what Brother Sam taught him, but he suppressed it because after that guy was so happy that he got away with murdering Brother Sam he unlearned it and refused to accept the light. They are trying to evolve Dexter into a more of a real person. He isn't just an empty shell with a need to kill. That's why he married Rita, he found that he did care about her and her family. That's why he kept Harrison after her death because he cares a lot about his son. He helped Lumen because it proved he could care about people not related to him. By showing his outrage at killing the guy who killed Brother Sam showed that Dexter actually had made a friend. Taking into account Dexter's "crazy" section, when he was seeing his brother instead of his father, he even came back to his senses and let Jonah live even though he had killed his mother and gotten away with it. Dexter could empathize with how he was feeling and let him go. Dexter is evolving from just a serial killer and that's how a plot progresses. It can't stay as him being an emotionless killer for the entire time because that would become a stale plot that hasn't moved forward since the first season.
Also since the first season, Dexter has become more and more obsessed with getting the kill instead of leaving it to the cops. It's a pride thing to him now. He knows he can still get away with it and so he does it, he just doesn't have to pick low-priority targets anymore. Dexter should have dropped some anonymous tips to the police about where to catch Travis, but his pride got in his way because of his son being taken.
While the two things I said may sound contradicting they actually aren't. They've shown that he can care for others and can empathize with other people, but since he is so used to killing people he keeps doing it because it is more comfortable to him than stopping. It's been a while since I've heard him talk about his 'needs' to kill somebody. He only got, from the count I remember, six kills minus Travis. He has gotten many more in past seasons, but to me this proves that his desire to kill on a regular basis is dissipating and he just hasn't noticed yet.moreless
Excellent assessment of the show!
I don't usually dwell on disgussion boards but oh my god this was bad. The whole season, not the episode. I think it was episode 9 I actually entertained the idea of quiting. I understand that you run out of things to do and say in a concept like this, I think the brilliant season 5 was their last shot, so end it already instead of dragging it longer and making us hate the show.
I think Deb will tell Dexter that she knew what he was up to all along but said nothing because she thinks all scums deserve their fate and that she didnt want to send her bro to jail for the rest of his natural life....the fact that she has a top job and doesnt want to lose that is also a big reason. Dexter will probably find that painfully low and will lose respect for her. (and this will probably mean danger for Deb)
The main plot was uninteresting. The new target was boring. This show just rolls on Jennifer Carpenter acting. She deserves an Emmy as much as the dude who got it 2 years ago. The other cast members know their acting, but writers messed up big time. I hate when they re-heat old stuff for twist.
Deb almost caught him the season before but let the "vigilante" go! I think dexter has a new partner!
this season was so so, but that means it was still better than half of whats on tv nowadays. i dont like how they took la guerta out of the main circle of characters and i really saw no need for the lab geek video game designer or the tits and arse ebay groupie. everything was spread a little too thin. i know they wanna keep the show fresh with new characters but they should do more character development. they shouldve explored more of doakes, which is an entirely different animal in the book. masuka is still a stranger, no development there, quinn and batista have become little more than props, and now the commisioner will likely be written out altogether. they didnt need the bible geek cop, they shouldve brought back that hot ass latin girl cop and let her and debra work through their differences to form a partnership. they keep shuffling through minoriity 'tokens' rather than developing compelling minority characters like doakes, and la guerta. angel was developing beautifully til they turned him into an 'extra'.moreless
I definetely agree with you on the way they've been using the secondary characters. It's such a shame. I used to love Batista and I thought Quinn was actually an interesting character in season 4, with all the suspicion on him being a dirty cop... Whatever happened to them, I wonder?
Why would Quinn deserve an apology note?
Because Quinn had his suspicions about Dexter in the previous season.
Deb finds out about Dexter by the end of the first book. Wonder if they'll handle it like the books did? I wish the Laguerta storyline would have been the same as the first book...
Pretty mixed season...I think the story of the doomsday killings was a great concept...even the fact that Travis Marshall was imagining Gellar all along..for most of the viewers who probably don't visit forums and read reviews and who don't re-watch shows online to try and dissect every minute detail...it would have come as a decent twist. But my biggest problem was I guess with the acting of Colin Hanks! he wasn't very believable..and that was a huge letdown in addition to all the technical loopholes in the plot. Debra's character graph was shown nicely...except this I-love-Dexter bit...wasn't it clear when he says the word 'sis'..that he has no 'other feelings' for Deb!..but yeah like many ppl are saying..I too believe she won't ever tell Dexter her new found feelings..cos of course Dexter's dark passenger has come to light now..lol.. since she is Lieutenant in charge, she can cover for him, after all he saved her life..moreless
Oh and how could I have possibly left off the part about how a grown damn woman, who is now a police lieutenant, can't understand that the words out of her 'brother's' mouth: I love you too" doesn't translate, in anyway whatsoever, to "let's have some sex." Of the things I disliked about this season, the last two episodes "dancing" with this are beyond gooney. That the psychiatrist is fostering it? Unethical for someone dealing with a mind as mushy as Deb's is right now.
I think the problem that I have most with DEXTER this season, is the complete break of common sense and dependance on GOONEY suspension of disbelief that the writers continue to force us to take. Look, we're watching a show about a serial killer of bad guys who gets off in some of the most obscene ways possible over the last 5 years. Fine, we get that, but don't do things like 1.) One cop with a rifle on a building is "covering their bases" enough. Where's the EDGE on this program anymore? Edge doesn't equal "shootin' guns, humpin' nameless gas station attendees and drivin' like a drunk on the highway on your way to Nebraska (the worst episode of DEXTER in a long time, btw). Edge = taking topics (like, oh, I don't know, RELIGION?) and turning them on their ear and letting the audience watch and ponder. The religion aspects of this season died even before Brother Sam was murdered (you KILL a grand actor like Mos Def in 6 episodes? Really? Off-screen, no less), and - never put into the Showtime monocle again. Sigh. Another: DEXTER "needs to go into the crime scene first (so he can destroy the SEMBLANCE OF HIS FACE ON THE WALL, err) so he can give his take on what happened to the HOMICIDE DETECTIVE FORCE? Really? Shame, showtime. I'm not looking for "must all be real life" crime drama, but I am looking for something that (very much like you said) requires something more than a high school perspective (though I gotta' tell you, our podcast gets a lot of younger audience input and even THEY aren't stupid enough to just sit and swallow what's being shoveled). We're recording our ALL-FAN-INPUT episode on The DEXTER Podcast this week and our season wrap up the follow week: Would you like to sit in for a segment to chat about your thoughts? They mirror our feelings and it's great to hear someone else with common sense and "demand for quality television." It's all too rare. Thanks for the great article!moreless
On a side note: I stumbled across a rerun of season 2 the other day: There were dozens of police officers, detectives and Masuka in the crime scene before Dexter arrived ('cos we all know Dexter's always late, he's always running some of his errands). Ah, and there was a lot of blood, too. So, how can the producers and the plothole defenders stand up for that stupid gimmick on the finale? How can you??
I couldn't agree more. That's exactly the same problem I had with this season: it wasn't emotionally engaging enough; this is the only way suspension of disbelief can work. It was plothole after plothole, with no gain. Shameful.
This season finale was the dumbiest ever... Wheres the great writing in early days??
Just to enumerate the plot holes:
1) Dexter rescued from the sea and killing a men in front of a lot of people?? Never happened. Dumb.
2) A lot of imigrant arriving the beach and nobody gives a damn?? Oh, and someone gives a cellphone to Dexter like nothing had happened. Dumb
3) Nobody enters in the crime scene waiting for Dexter?? First time in the serie just to destroy the painting... Dumb.
4) Kiddnaping a kid never was so easy. How fast the killer walk with a kid in a lion suit?? Dumb.
5) Put a ritual bonfire and a kid (inside a lion suit) in a rooftop and no one noticed???Dumb.
6) Dexter bring the kid and a tall man down the building and, SURPRISE, nobody noticed AGAIN?????? Dumb.
7) Deb arrived at the church without notice??? Just to caught Dex. Dumbiest...
Dexter said OMG and I said "OMG what happened with the writers????"
moreless
8) Dexter aware that his wallet, keys and cell are gone and not stopping to think that DDD probably has them? REALY dumb.
xmas wish: Next season doesn't have a stupid arc with another serial killer, the characters develop more, and Dexter spends the whole season going back to his roots and killing lots of bad guys!! Remember when Dexter used to investigate and stalk bad guys to follow his code? That was fun and that's what this show needs!
