"Diamond" Dave may replace Howard Stern

Viewers and listeners could be "dancing in the streets" if "Diamond" David Lee Roth, one of the greatest rock front men of all time, takes the place of self-proclaimed "King of All Media" Howard Stern. The radio giant, whose show is also broadcast on E! Entertainment Television, is set to leave Infinity Broadcasting in December of 2005 and start anew with Sirius Satellite Radio. Stern has already parted ways with E!

Roth, the original singer for the rock band Van Halen, is one of many personalities Infinity Broadcasting is looking to replace Stern with. Infinity CEO Joel Hollander has said, "One thing you should expect not to happen, is one person to be dropped in to replace Howard at 27 radio stations." It remains unclear whether or not E! will pick up a "Diamond Dave" radio show to broadcast on television.

Roth is known for high-kicking karate moves, zingy one-liners, and outspoken opinions. Many think he went "crazy from the heat" after he left Van Halen. At first things seemed "just like paradise" as his debut album landed in the top five. Follow-up albums failed to generate as many sales, and Roth discovered that not "everybody wants some" of his '80s-style party rock. Recently he has been rumored to be working as a paramedic, where he answers the shouts of "somebody get me a doctor!"

Roth and Stern have at least one thing in common: both men "ain't talking 'bout love."
