Disco kills two American Idols

Because of the gimmicky new Judges' Save that was exercised last week, fans of American Idol got a double-dose of eliminations Wednesday night. The reality hit cut its seven finalists down to five after disco-themed performances, and the remaining contestants are looking… awfully white.

Anoop Desai, from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and Lil Rounds, from Memphis, Tennessee, were kicked to the curb in American Idol's first double-elimination show. Desai's long run ended with his performance of Donna Summer's "Dim All The Lights," and Rounds saw her chance end after her rendition of Chaka Khan's "I'm Every Woman."

This leaves Danny Gokey, Kris Allen, Allison Iraheta, Adam Lambert, and last week's recipient of the Judges' Save, Matt Giraud. Early in the season, judges predicted that a male contestant would win this year, and it's looking that way with only one female remaining.

Next week, the final five sing songs made famous by the Rat Pack, and former Idol champ Taylor Hicks stops by to sing his latest single.

Did America send the right people home?

NEVER in all these years has dialidol.com been this far wrong. According to them, Lil got the HIGHEST number of votes, and Allison had the LOWEST of the seven. It's not that Lil shouldn't be the next to go, it's just that they will NOT send Allison packing, even though she has been at the bottom or next to the bottom 6 times on that site. Also, Anoop was higher than Matt and Kris. I smell a rat. There is NO way Lil was #7.

I am so glad that Lil is gone.

I was wondering when someone would mention the color thing after seeing the show last night...happened faster than I thought. The fact of the matter is that the right 2 got eliminated...they were the least talented out of the remaining seven.
