Does Casting News Mean The Walking Dead's Lori is a Goner?

Television shows always like to play down casting news when it affects them. The company line goes something like this: "Oh, just because [actor] got cast in [new pilot] doesn't mean the character is going to be [eaten by zombies/get his face blown up by a wheelchair bomb/have his head cut off by a boy king]! Fans shouldn't worry about this news, it's nothing!" Meanwhile, their palms are sweaty and their teeth are chattering because they know their hit show just got spoiled.

Remember when The Walking Dead's Jon Bernthal was cast in TNT's LA Noir? AMC dismissed it as nothing to note. Next thing you know, Shane is getting stabbed in the woods and then shot in the head. Now the same casting doom is happening with another cast member: Sarah Wayne Callies, who plays Lori Grimes.

Callies has been cast in NBC's new comedy pilot Friends Who Make Love Together, an ensemble comedy about "navigating the difficult world of dating and friendships in New York City." She'll play a no-nonsense sportswriter who's constantly hit on by athletes.

Take a look at this exclusive clip of Friends Who Make Love Together and let us know what you think:

April Fool's! Lori isn't going ANYWHERE, which means Carl will be going EVERYWHERE as TV's worst parent remains completely oblivious to everything.

One can only hope. This character has to be the most poorly written female character I have ever seen. No one can possibly be this so thoroughly stupid and dramatic all the time. Even the actor's physical appearance adds to it. Her acting makes you hate the character even more. Enough of the wide eyed drama. So overused it gives me a headache. And eat a cookie while you are at it. Your boy hips are not attractive. Lack of showers mean hair doesn't frizz by the way. Unrealistic...

LOL I was wondering why I haven't read this news on any other website. XD

nice one! I have to admit, Lori's growing on me. If I got pregnant during the zombie apocalypse I'm pretty sure I'd go to the dogs. Give her credit for keeping it together as much as she does. When it comes down to it, no one has to worry about anyone but themselves except for Lori (and Rick kind of). She has a kid and a noisy baby on the way with no maternity leave. Wouldn't you be a bit self-absorbed if you had all that weighing on you? I'd be like "OMG what am I going to do?????" between asking where my kid is and being pissed at my husband for prioritizing leadership over his family.

so there.

you son of a bitch... I read this after April 1st, it doesn't count. I was on the phone with my friend, and I was all reading this and not paying attention to him, and I'm all like "Dude, dude, I can't tell you this. Oh this is big." I was just about to tell him, then I scrolled down. You sir, are an ass. I applaud you.

*SPOILER*

yes, lori doesn't die till much later in the comic book, but she will die, along with many other characters, but DALE wasn't suppose to die till a little later, but glad he did because the character in the show is a lot more annoying than the one in the comic.

Maybe, by allowing Dale to die in the show means, that they don't follow the comic books 100% .... and I agree, he was very annoying, I couldn't be happier that he's gone

OMG NOT FUNNY!!!

Yes I know Lori can be extremely irritating but I do wanna see how her character further copes not only with potentially raising another kid in the Apocalypse but with Rick killing Shane and with having a the walker virus inside of her and possibly her baby.

I actually hope they do kill her off

I was cheering instead of feeling sad. She brings nothing to the group and always endangers herself and others - OFF WITH HER HEAD!

Well, no Lori no laughs

I have to admit you got me. But if you had chosen Andrew Lincoln for your little joke, I would've been worried, but getting rid of "Lori" is something the writers can perfectly work around. You know, no character lasts forever in this show. So I was never worried for the future of TWD.

Damn, u had me cheering for a moment. How is tv's dumbest character still alive in a zombie apocalypse??

Thanks for the spoiler, asshat.

Pity, I can't stand Lori, she is always moaning at Rick and got off with Shane.

Just because something happens in the comic/TV show doesn't mean it's going to happen in the TV show/comic. See: Sophia, Dale, Shane, etc.

DICK!!! Ever heard of a spoiler alert? I mean, the show isn't following the comic's storyline, but it's still based on it.......I'm hoping that this will happen, but I'd like it to be a surprise

^^SPOILER^^ THE ABOVE COMMENT MAY BE A SPOILER

If this is true then that was certainly a dick move, some around here haven't read the comics.

I read the comics too, but I at least had the decency to keep that to myself to the fans of the TV show.

Her?

I'll admit to falling for this. I just wanted so very much for it to be true!
Reply
Flag
well just because she isn't going anywhere doesn't mean she doesn't get eaten by zombies. Not saying she will. But as Game of Thrones this is not a series to get favorites in, as they tend to die on you all of a sudden. This is true if they follow the comic book story, where people die pretty constantly.

Although 'The Walking Dead' gave us a quick one, two with deaths it still has a long way to go before its character killing can be compared, G.R.R. Martin is brutal with the unexpectedness of his deaths.

Can't wait for to see the suprise and shock on this website when some of them happen.

Can't agree more, and by now a few have :)

Lol good joke. NBC's new comedy....yeah that's like FOX's new hit show...two things that don't last very long lol

This would have worked better if the animated gif wasn't playing so close to the top of the page because of the short article. You should have a link or a play button after we read the article. I immediately saw the animated gif so the article was already spoiled.

As I read my heart wanted it to be true, but my mind knew no show would want her.

Annoying as Sarah Tancredi, even worse as Lori.

Reply
Flag
This is true. My first thought (regarding the casting) was literally "her?".
Reply

I hope in an appropriate 'Michael Bluth referring to Anne manner' "........her?
