Donald Sutherland heads to The Eastmans

Michelle Trachtenberg.

The man who played the ridiculously wealthy Tripp Darling on ABC's Dirty Sexy Money will now play a man who's merely filthy rich in CBS' The Eastmans. Donald Sutherland is the latest actor to be booked on the medical drama, The Hollywood Reporter says.

The Eastmans revolves around a family of doctors, and CBS is hoping it can fill the void in its schedule where a quality medical drama should be. Also cast in the pilot is Jacqueline Bisset.

Young actress Michelle Trachtenberg will swap her prep school duds on Gossip Girl for a nurse's outfit on Mercy. The NBC pilot follows a trio of nurses; Trachtenberg will play one of them.

Booooone! Lost alum Ian Somerhalder has joined the CW's The Vampire Diaries as a temperamental vampire. As Boone, Somerhalder was Lost's first major casualty in season one.

Elsewhere, Scott Caan has signed on to lead Fox's comedy Cop House, and Josh Charles has been added to the CBS drama The Good Wife.

Donald Sutherland and his son, Kiefer, have had great acting careers. I'm very impressed with them. I just heard that there will be a new bio about Kiefer coming out this January, called "Kiefer Sutherland: Living Dangerously." I wonder if his father will be mentioned in it.

Doctors, nurses... I'm happy that the writers are full of fresh ideas :D Oh well, as long as they are done well I have no complaints.

I don't really like Michelle Trachtenberg. She's freaky looking and was the worst part of Buffy!

Michelle is 23 and now she is finally gonna plan an adult. Congrats. Though we still have her as a kid again in 17 again.

This all makes me very happy and I look forward to seeing Michelle Trachtenberg in a grown up role.
