Don't Worry, Angela Bassett Is Also Returning for American Horror Story: Hotel

You have to hand it to FX and series creator Ryan Murphy. By separately announcing each individual cast member for American Horror Story: Hotel, many of whom we expected to return anyway, they've tricked us into writing (and you into reading) approximately 38 different stories about the upcoming season. I see you, Murphy, and I am on to your special brand of witchcraft.

Anyway, the most recent guest to check in to Kathy Bates' hotel is two-time alum Angela Bassett. Murphy also tweeted the news Thursday. Although there isn't much known about who she'll be playing, Murphy's tweet hints that Bassett's character might be a bit of a troublemaker.

Bassett joins a cast that includes fellow alums Bates, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Wes Bentley, Chloë Sevigny, and Matt Bomer. Lady Gaga and Cheyenne Jackson will both make their series debuts when the horror anthology returns this fall.

What kind of character do you hope to see Bassett play this season?

Oh my, i am shocked. What amazing news. When do we get the announcement that Ryan Murphy has chosen Ryan Murphy to executive produce? I am nervous about that one.

All I need is Lily Rabe and Frances Conroy to get interested enough to watch this season.

Lily Rabe is starring in her own series, The Whispers. Premieres June 1 on ABC. Looks spooky good, IMO.

Thank goodness, she is too good to keep jumping in to Murphy's half assed series.

American Horror Story won't feel the same without Jessica Lange. Maybe that's for the worse. On the other hand, her presence has been so dominant on the show, that it often suffocated the story. Now it's a chance to move in another direction and give some other of the great actors involved to shine properly.
