The show begins with a beautiful yet ditsy model who dies in a car crash, and is then accidentally returned to earth in the body of a plus-size lawyer. The comedy-drama/fantasy series has just been re-commissioned in the US, where it airs on Lifetime.
Promoters from Virgin Media have dubbed Drop Dead Diva as a mix of Ally McBeal and Ugly Betty. The series stars newcomer Brooke Elliott and comedian Margaret Cho. Featured guest stars have included Liza Minnelli, Paula Abdul and Rosie O'Donnell.
