Duets for one, for all

LOS ANGELES--Fox knows how to do "star studded."

The network has released the list of singers who will be featured on its upcoming reality show, Duets. The Simon Cowell show pairs well-known singers with celebrities who are not known for singing, then pits them in a competition.

Fox has lined up Cyndi Lauper, Smokey Robinson, Dionne Warwick, Brian McKnight, Macy Gray, Patti LaBelle, Kenny Loggins, Richard Marx, Randy Travis, Aaron Neville, Chaka Khan, Clint Black, and Michael Bolton as the singers who will school the celebs in the finer points of crooning. Still unannounced are the regular celebrities who will be competing.

Composer/producer David Foster will sit on the judge panel.

Duets is the most recent reality show from American Idol cocreator Simon Cowell. Last season ABC ran his American Inventor, and NBC is currently airing his America's Got Talent.

I agree that the kinds of celebrities they choose will depend on the success of the show--but if you have singers like Smokey Robinson and Patti LaBelle I don't think the quality of celebrities will be bad. I'm looking forward to this one.

I think the success of this show will depend on what celebrities are lined up. If they mean 'celebrities' like The Mole: Celebrity Edition did, then...yeah, not pretty.

Stop it with the reality music shows already.

It's getting out of hand and Simon Cowell is annoying and obnoxious.
