... Okay, television is officially the cool place to be. Dustin Hoffman, who can do whatever he wants, has joined the cast of David Milch's HBO show Luck, about gamblers at a horse-racing track. Combined with Dennis Farina's casting, this makes Luck a must-see series. [THR]

... Actress Julie Benz, who was last seen on Dexter floating in a bathtub of her own blood, has landed a more lively role. She's joined ABC's No Ordinary Family, about a family that's like a live-action version of The Incredibles, where she'll act opposite The Shield's Michael Chiklis. [THR]

... Adrianne Palicki will stay in Texas: She's been cast in Fox's Midland, about a man who juggles two lives in the big state. The Friday Night Lights veteran (she played Tyra) will play one of the dude's girlfriends... but she'll always be FNL's hottest babe to me (and that's no easy task). [THR]

... Dollhouse casting news! But it's not about Enver Gjokaj. Fran Kranz, who played nerdy genius Topher on the Joss Whedon show, has jumped onboard NBC's comedy Friends with Benefits, which isn't about chums with health insurance. It's about sex. [THR]

... Kourtney and Khloe will continue to take Miami, as E! has renewed Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami for a second season. My condolences to Miami. [Yahoo!]

... Gossip Girl, once The CW's hottest property, has abandoned the whole spin-off idea. It seemed like a sure thing a year and a half ago, but now it's only a matter of time before the cast members start posing for Playboy. [E! Online]

... Warehouse 13, that mediocre-yet-entirely-unoffensive ratings hit on SyFy, finally has a return date. Season 2 will begin on July 13 and run for 13 episodes. [SciFi Wire]
