... At the 11th hour, the world suddenly changed directions to narrowly avoid a civilization-crushing calamity. After scheming her way to the finals of ABC's Dancing With the Stars, near-teenage mom and anti-teen-pregnancy advocate Bristol Palin has seen her run at reality TV's second-biggest crown come to an end. Jennifer Grey was crowned the best dancing star last night, with Disney star Kyle Massey coming in second and Palin landing in third. The end. [LA Times]
... Law & Order: Special Victims Unit showrunner Neal Baer is leaving the show at the conclusion of this season, after 11 years. Baer has signed a development deal with CBS, meaning he's bringing his talents to a new network that really appreciates the procedural. [TV Guide]

vicbjones, no, but when the least talented contestant becomes one of the three finalists there's something really fishy going on.
Jennifer Grey won she deserve it. the Bristol Palins thing should ve ended the day one!
I like Catie Couric! I hate Glee!! I love me some Tim Surette!!!
Katie Couric, who gives a rats behind!!!!!She is most of the kids grand mom!!!!!
Now, if someone would just put an end to DWTS!!!!!What awful TV!!!!
Defined "schemed." If there are enough viewers who choose to vote for a contestant, for whatever reason, it's their choice, isn't it, regardless of how the judges score anything? Urging people to vote a certain way doesn't constitute a conspiracy.
Yes add Katie Couric to the worst show on TV. Just one more Couric for the world record! (South Park Reference)
@tselliot what exactly was Tim assuming? she is(was) a teen mom who is now an abstinence advocate. how is that not exactly what she is? also shes a terrible dancer who made it to the finals of a "contest".
I was glad to see Jennifer Grey win. I didn't care for Bristol Palins to win..
I am so happy that Palin did not win. That was the most absurd thing I have ever seen on DWTS. Maks and Brandy should have won. I was so mad when they were voted off I stopped watching. Maks always gets "robbed".
While I would like to be able to attack Surette for his words about Bristol Palin, the fact is he kept it politics free and, by putting herself in the spotlight, she opened the door for the type of personal attacks he did use.On a side note...AWESOME news about National-Terrorism-Strike-Force:San Diego: Sport Utility Vehicle (NTSF:SD:SUV)
I was hoping she'd win, and it was certainly possible, to prove the absurditity of the situation. I didn't vote however as I'm appalled by the whole thing...
tselliot, commenting below, apparently doesn't understand how TV works. DWTS put Bristol on the show because they hoped it would increase ratings... not because of her dazzling dance skills. Voters kept her on the show to make some kind of point with "tree-hugging, liberal, hippies" (apparently, that connections are more important than actual talent, although that's probably not the message they INTENDED to send.) I offer a word of advice... some people called her a bad dancer not because they hate Palins, conservatives, or America, but because she is just not as good as some of the other contestants. Get over it. Have a nice day.
Is everything on the web these day written by tree-hugging, liberal, hippies? You make an assumptions about Bristol, that is so obviously political driven and has been dismissed by the show itself. Trust me, there's nothing conservative about the judges panel or ABC so it's highly doubtful they would have defended her if she had done anything wrong. Keep your ignorant political-laden opinions to yourself.
DWT? proved its irrelevance over this whole Palin travesty. Leave viewers out of it if you must air the show at all...
