Ed Helms won't be leaving his Big Tuna.
The actor has been made a permanent cast member of The Office. At the beginning of the season, Helms was added as recurring character Andy Bernard on the NBC comedy.
Helms' character was transferred from the downsizing Stanford branch to the miscreant-filled Scranton branch of the fictional paper supply company at the center of the show. He refers to coworker Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) as "Big Tuna" and planned on gaining favor with boss Michael Scott (Steve Carell) by "personality mirroring."
Helms and Carell go back a few years--before they landed their respective parts in the sitcom, both appeared on Comedy Central's The Daily Show. Next, they are both appearing in the film Evan Almighty.

I had the pleasure of working with Ed on his upcoming film "The Hangover" and found him to be a great guy and a very talented actor. I would like to see Ed get a part in a dark production such a serial killer who picks his victims based on the color of their car or because they ride a bike or because they look like his Aunt "Charlotte" (Hush, Hush). Ed if you happen to see this, I want to thank you again for a great time on the set. I have never enjoyed being almost run over on a sidewalk by a police car more.

Actually, he did appear a month or so ago on the Daily Show. But I do think it was just a one time thing. Glad to see he is a regular now. He is great.
