'Enders dog death sparks complaints

Viewers complained when Lucas Johnson
(Don Gilet) apparently killed a dog

Last Wednesday, it was hinted that the twisted man of the cloth, played by Don Gilet, bumped off collie dog Sugar after the pet started sniffing around a tree where one of Lucas's victims lay buried.

More than 100 viewers complained to the BBC about the act, whereas only a small few complained when Lucas killed two people - Trina Johnson (Sharon Duncan Brewster) and Owen Turner (Lee Ross).

In a statement, a BBC spokeswoman said: "Regular viewers of EastEnders will know that Lucas has already killed two people in order to protect his reputation. Although it is never explicit that Sugar dies, the story does indeed suggest that Lucas has killed her. This behaviour is completely in keeping with his character.

"EastEnders does not condone the killing of dogs, just as it does not condone killing people. No animals were harmed in the making of this story."

To all those out there complaining - 'Eastenders is not real. It's just a soap. Plus in really life the dog is still alive.'

These idiots are the same people that had to watch it when Archie died and when Bradley died. They don't mind watching them two characters get killed from havig their heads smash in, but they complain a dog is killed off and we didn't even see that death.

Perhaps instead of complaining, they could have used the time to donate to the RSPCA.
