Eureka, Friday Night Lights, and True Blood

FRIDAY, AUGUST 5

Season Finale, 8 p.m., NBC

Friday Night Lights

Hey, not everyone has DirecTV, so this still counts as new. Season 4 of TV's best football show concludes its NBC run with a turkey dinner. Thanksgiving in August? Eh, works for me.

9:00 p.m., SYFY

Eureka

Things get all Warehouse 13 in town when some valuable objects disappear. And of course if they're not found, everyone dies.

Also on the airwaves...
Wife Swap, 8 p.m., ABC
Late Show With David Letterman with Sandra Bullock, 11:35 p.m., CBS
Whale Wars, 9 p.m., Animal Planet

SATURDAY, AUGUST 6

8 p.m., ABC Family

Mean Girls

Tina fey wrote this witty look at cruel high-school life through the eyes of the new girl in school (Lindsay Lohan, before she was totally batty). Always worth a re-watch.

9 p.m., BBC America

Being Human

Mitchell suits up as head of the vampires while werewolf George helps play matchmaker for ghost Annie's boss.

Also on the airwaves...
Frost Giant, 9 p.m., SyFy A SyFy original movie. Need we say more?

SUNDAY, AUGUST 7

9 p.m., FOOD

The Next Food Network Star

Watch in horror as the finalists head to New York for an Iron Chef cook-off and discover the secret ingredient is... contestant Arti! Oh, sorry, it's artichokes.

9 p.m., HBO

True Blood

Hopefully this week's episode will spend way less time on Sam's boring storyline. But as far as synopsis goes, Alcide has a family emergency, Jason tries to save Crystal, and Lafayette's mom finally makes an appearance.

Also on the airwaves...
Scoundrels, 9 p.m., ABC
Rubicon, 9 p.m., AMC
MLB Baseball: Yankees vs. Red Sox

FNL is over already? Darn. What a great show. Unfortunately I won't have time to watch it online early this year so hopefully NBC puts season 5 on the air earlier...
