Faison going by Playbook for Spike TV

Cable channel Spike TV is looking to make men's lives easier with a new series titled The Playbook, which Scrubs star Donald Faison will host.

The show, which premieres at 4 p.m. December 3 and will air as a series of six half-hour specials, is described as "the ultimate guide for guys." It takes a comedic approach to helping men "get through life" by focusing on such topics as making the most of dating, how to get the best deals on new and used cars, and how to beat the odds and be a winner at gambling.

Faison will set up each situation for viewers to see played out via comedic vignettes featuring actors before a "real guy" runs through the "plays and lessons" to see if they actually work. The first installment will focus on "Gaming & Taming Technology," in a nod to the network's upcoming "Video Game Awards 2005" telecast December 10.

Faison, best known for his role as Turk in NBC's medical comedy Scrubs, made his film debut in 1995's Waiting to Exhale, and also played Murray in both the film and TV series versions of Clueless.
