Family Guy movie to be released on DVD

Legions of the faithful were rewarded when FOX brought Family Guy back to the air two years after its cancellation, and those fans will have even more reason to rejoice this fall. FOX has set September 27 as the release date for an 83-minute, straight-to-DVD movie based on the hugely popular animated series.

Family Guy Presents Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story is series creator Seth MacFarlane's first feature-length endeavor, and he says "it was an enormous undertaking to juggle this with doing 35 new episodes of the show, but we think it turned out great."

The movie follows evil baby genius Stewie through a near-death experience and the life change that it inspires. Stewie abandons his malicious ways in order to launch a search for his real father.

Drew Barrymore, Ron Livingston, Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, and Tori Spelling are among the guest stars who will lend their voices to the project. The release will abound with special features, including deleted scenes, commentary, still galleries, and animated shorts.

Stewie is the first direct-to-video release ever made from a television show, and FOX will launch the biggest-ever marketing campaign for a project born of TV. Keep an eye out for nationwide print and TV ads along with special screenings for college students.

To Clear up uncertainties that you may all have about the movie, Stewie's idea that he is not the child of Peter is enhanced by a sight of a man that looks just like him.

No the movie is not a couple of episodes all strung together it is actually an 83 minute long episode, but it could be assumed to be a multiple episode compilation due to the fact that in the opening credits it cites 3 part. Each of which were written by different cast members, but it all flows together very well.
The movie is flippin' sweet

Stewie presumes that peter is not his father, simply because Stewie cannot belive that his dna came from anyone as dumb as peter.

I wonder if Fox will borrow the term "OVA" (Original Video Animation) from the japanese for this. True, it's an *American* television first, but Japan has been doing this with anime for years. Hopefully the trend will catch on. And also, hopefully this or future releases will come uncensored. Hooray for no network censors!
