Feast Your Eyes on the New Spartacus (Seriously. Feast ‘Em)

A new, four-minute preview video of the new season of Spartacus, officially titled Spartacus: Vengeance and starring Liam McIntyre as the fearsome, mostly-naked gladiator, has hit the internet. In it, you’ll see the first, exciting scene of the new season, interspersed with interview footage of Mr. McIntyre. And all we’re going to say is: It looks like somebody’s been hitting the gym. (And the waxing table, if this old photo of McIntyre is any indication.) Yes, we all will miss Andy Whitfield, but based on what I’ve seen here, I'm looking forward to seeing what McIntyre brings to the loincloth. I mean part! What he brings to the part.

Spartacus: Vengeance premieres January 27 at 10pm on Starz.

I have been waiting for the third installment of Spartacus for far too long. This is gonna be great. I will admit that not having Andy as the star does change things. He had that perfect voice for the role. Otherwise, I am really looking forward to the new year.

@JIMDAWG3025

the immortals has a lot more material for a tv series than spartacus. you have both the humans and Gods stories to developp. Spartacus is just a freakin revolutionary and revoltions don't last 7 seasons. if they did they wouldnt be revolutions anymore

They should not change the main charater I hope his going to be better than the other

As others said. He died. He got cancer, went into remission and was going to start filming the next season, when the cancer came back stronger and he died soon after. They would not have replaced him otherwise as he was a PERFECT Spartacus. No one could truly replace him.

tell everyone you know they changed the main guy cause he freking died and not a joke he really died

Ya, where has this guy been? I only just started watching the show and I knew that he had died of cancer. If you watch tv at all, you hear this stuff, dude.

although a tv-serie is kind of a good idea, a movie is what I really want, in the genre of 300 or the Immortals (very good movie), I dont think you actually need to stretch such a great story in several seasons.

damn autocorrect!

ru retarted. 300 was good but immortals was purely retarded. this show is so rich that it would suck if it was only 2 hours.

300 was actually good watched once after that i thought it was overhype and gay and i liked immortal i think the main dude in that fights way better then sparticus 300 and clash combined im just saying hes got good moves. but 300 you dont really see skill accept maybye throwing a spear really far which was cgi.

After only 19 episodes, I kind of feel like "seen one Spartacus action scene, seen 'em all". And yet... I'm still invested in everyone's stories and excited for the show to return. Even though Liam McIntyre looks like he's doing his best here, Andy Whitfield will still be missed.

I'm not quite excited about the new season.. 'cause after the last season.. after the break in the main history for more than a year.. If the show start to sux.. idc if it get cancelled.. i don't like that much the characters anymore. For me the magic is lost... specially now that Andy the main char left us. But.. If Lucy keeps In.. I'm in too!.

Its been a long time!

Liam McIntyre looks more like a dark character. Andy had more goodness in him...

I'm sorry, have you never seen 300? THAT is ripped.

I am sorry... have you ever watched Spartacus: Blood and Sand and Spartacus: Gods of the Arena? If not, I recommend you do. I didn't particularly like '300' mainly because the main actor in it is Gerard Butler who I don't like as an actor. Andy can never be replaced but this new 'Spartacus' looks exactly like him from behind! Yummy! Go the Aussie and NZ actors!

Paraphrase: "Have you seen Spartacus? I recommend you do. I didn't like 300 because I didn't like the actor."

Jesus, what a terrible argument.

guy seem kinda scrawny to be playing spartacus

who says spartacus has to be bulging? Go watch the original movie he was never that ripped nor was Andy.
Reply

He didn't have to be bulging but if Liam's playing a character that was more buff a week before (story-wise) it makes sense he should be of a similar size!
Reply

You try to get that fit, and then complain about how he doesn't match exactly. Geez.

OMG I miss Andy....

will Craig Parker be back ?

he was very good in Legend of the seeker as an enemy character

and he had a little part in Spartacus: Blood and Sand

It would make sense to have him in the new season but nothing is listed on imdb.
