Finally, a Full Trailer for FX's The Bridge! (VIDEO)

Hey everybody, here's a trailer for your next favorite show! After several cryptic teases that looked like a cross between Radiohead videos and found-footage murder mysteries, FX has released a full trailer for its upcoming series The Bridge, and at first glance it appears to be up to FX's lofty standards of quality.

The Bridge stars Diane Kruger and Demián Bichir as detectives on opposite sides of the U.S.-Mexico border trying to find a serial killer who's chopping people up in both countries. Throw in some Mexican drug cartel violence and police corruption and you've got yourself one of the summer's most anticipated new series.

Yup, I will be watching this.

The Bridge debuts Wednesday, July 10 on FX.

There is nothing wrong with having a crush on Diane Kruger - she is beautiful in a very classy sense - but pleeeeeeaaaase people don't call her a good actress. She is one of the most overrated actresses in the world. No, scratch the overrated, she's plain bad. But that doesn't mean she's gonna ruin the show, the other actors are fantastic so maybe they can drag her through and maybe baby she gets the hang of not to suck all the time.

FX has been watching Breaking Bad. I'll give it a few eps and see how it does.

Oh yeah.. I will be watching.
Love the premise and Diane Kruger, but what sells it for me is Demian Bichir (insert obvious mexican remark here), he is an awesome talented actor and I had a HUGE crush on him when I was growing up in Mexico, the guy deserves all the nods.

OMG I know!!! I remember being completely freaked out by the movie when I first saw it but I wasn't really old enough to get why I was scared, i just knew I was (my parents didn't get the whole movie rating system, they let me watch a lot of really scary movies as a kid) and then when Monk was on, I happened to flip on Silence of the Lambs... dude I couldn't watch Monk for a while. Ted Levine is awesome. From the two seconds he was on, he was sans mustache, that might take some getting used to.

The big danger here is that Kruger will be a tad clunky in trying to mirror her Swede counterparts' nuanced portrayal of a high functioning person with asperger syndrome type issues. I found a similar problem with the US version of The Killing, in which Mireille Enos' (though not acting with 'mental dysfunction') performance of an 'out there' woman cop came off as cold and seperated from the heart of the role/story.
Perhaps they should've got Dustin Hoffman to drag up one more time just in case - Tootsie and The Bridge, the reboot!

Totally enjoyed Bron, the original. But this has the story in a very interesting setting (Mexico-US border) so it could be an interesting watch even having seen the original.

Personally, we're planning a Bron (original) versus Bridge (remake) drinking game. 1 drink every time the new show really captures the true essence of the original characters/show, extra points if it does so without a word for word re-shoot.
If we're nicely buzzed/wasted by the end of the pilot, we will know it is a good remake, sober up, and start watching the show in earnest.

Not too psyched about it being yet another "detective/serial kiler" series, but I'll still watch because this is FX.

What I'm really looking forward to is The Strain. That can't come out fast enough.

well it doesn't look like it'll be as bad as the americans, at least not based on the trailer. some similarities it would seem though. like a potential flair for the OVERLY-dramatic.

the will-they wont-they relationship, overly dramatic plot points, pretty pathetic and unengaging dialogue, the soundtrack. virtually anything or anyone who isn't Phillip, Stan, Nina, Martha or Paige. IMO.

I'll watch for three reasons:

1) Duh, the premise sounds cool.

2) FX never disappoints me. Well, except for canceling Terriers -- that was depressing as hell. But as for what they pick up, I enjoy almost all of their shows.

3) I've had a pretty big crush on Diane Kruger for quite some time. Something about her seemed a little off in the few-seconds-long clips in this trailer, but as I learn time and time again, trailers don't mean shit.

No one will fault you for having a crush on Diane. She is a great actress, and I hope she'll get properly recognized for it some day, maybe with an Oscar nod. Joshua Jackson is a lucky guy.

Gee FX finds another drama that looks better than anything rolled out at upfronts for any of the networks. Is this even a surprise anymore? A toast to John Landgraff - currently the smartest man in television

Agree! At least some are split in the Winter, some in the Fall, some in the Spring some in the Summer. I'm sometimes thankful for cancellations but also sad. I'm glad that FX sticks with Tuesdays and Thursdays , Starz/Cinemax stick with Fridays, BBC America sticks with Saturdays, etc. Damn competition is increasing. A&E Networks, BBC America and now Sundance are after quality scripted stuff.

I have not watched: The Shield, Rescue Me, Nip/Tuck (Doesn't seem like it's worth it from what I hear), Rescue Me, Damages

It's odd because I have quite the crush on her and have never previously thought of her acting as weak.

But something about her acting in some of the three-second long clips in this trailer bugs me. Seems a little off. But out of context like that, I could be very wrong.
