Conan O'Brien's got seven months to kill before he can host another TV show. Rather than sit on the couch watching The View and eating cupcakes until fall, maybe he could moonlight as a writer for tired and troubled TV shows. C'mon, Coco! Parachute in like a comedy commando! Here are five programs that could use the redhead's help:
1. Saturday Night Live
If anyone can find the long-running sketch show's long-lost funny, it's Conan O'Brien.
2. The Simpsons
Coco wrote for The Simpsons when the show was in its heyday; perhaps his return would gas up its nearly empty tank.
3. Better Off Ted
A marquee name and a bit of creative firepower could be just what Better Off Ted needs to get off ABC's hit list.
4. Two and a Half Men
Dear Conan, please prove that 14 bazillion people can be wrong by bringing true wit to Two and a Half Men.
5. Scrubs
Scrubs' self-caricature disease has put the show on life support. Paging Dr. O'Brien, stat!
Let's hear it: What other TV shows could Conan save?

It's too late to save the Simpsons. There just reanimated corpses with no soul.
The Simpsons has gone downhill in the last few years and SNL hasn't been the as great either except for the occasional Digital Short.
But in defense of The Simpsons, the last new episode was actually alright, but it still doesn't make up for a bunch of mediocore previous episodes.
The Simpsons and Scrubs are just fine as they are now, but SNL needs to be fixed FAST.
Conan would be a good cast member for Saturday Night Live. As an alternative, how about a Conan O'Brien Show on all of those Saturday nights that there is NOT a live SNL show?
didn't he write for his own show. That tells me that the talent has dried up I certainly enjoyed his writing of Simpsons a lot better than seeing him and his clown act Doesn't have the talent of interviews that JOHNNY Carson did
Save? Are you kidding? He couldn't even save his OWN show when he had it. He is really a robot, he is NOT funny and the name Coco is silly for a man/robot.
So it's not just me, SNL really does sucks... Well, at least the Weekend Update is still awesome.
I'm still quite angry about how he got screwed over. He's awesome. He should also get his old show back, Jimmy Fallon is awful. He should definitely do some shows, he is pure comic genuis.
Conan can and will put his talents to work There has to be more to writing then big hair and charisma: there’s the "fold' that is established with writers, that’s a big hurdle. That said here’s something I thought was interesting. Arti Lang told Conan on the Late Night Show some time early last year before leaving the Late Night Show that somewhere in his contract he was entitled to 40 million in some contractual clause if NBC reneged. Conan joked that that was sweet, did that mean he could get paid for not working? And that he'd look into it. I think Conan could walk over to CBS and flash 30 million in Dave Letterman’s face and “The -Worldwide- pants would be on the ground.†I think NBC got played by COCO, congratulations.moreless
Conan, in case you're reading this, and we all know you are now that you have nothing better to do than read internet blogs about yourself, let me say this: Take 7 months off. Go take a vacation with the family and enjoy the time you have together. Do everything you said you wanted to do but didn't have the time for because of having to host 2 different late night shows. Heck, invite your entire cast and crew to a barbecue! Then come back when the money dries up, plan and write for your new show and conquer late night for whoever has the sense to foot your bill.
Yo Maxx, dude, the article says "maybe he could moonlight as a writer". SNL desperately NEEDS some good writing. There's nothing in the article about HOSTING SNL, the hosts aren't the problem with SNL anyway...
Conan can't host SNL. It's on NBC, and last time I checked, Conan had a falling out with NBC and left them and The Tonight Show. He can't logically quit working for a network, then go back to them 7 months later. Otherwise, what was the point of Conan quitting NBC in the first place?
i agree for 1 and 2 but i still watch those shows
Scrubs is dead. Not even Coco could pull that off.
He could write on SNL and guest on Letterman cracking Jay Leno lol You know Leno stole the Tonight show from Jack Paar
What's better of ted?
I would love him to be a writer for SNL, but truely the whole NBC thing... that's not gonna happen anytime soon, well from what I can see. The Simpsons and Two and a Half Men could deffinitly use his help, where as Better Off Ted and Scrubs... I would rather he not waste his time.
He can have my job at TMZ.
SNL all the way.! I love the show as it is, but Conan could be the best host in years, he's really funny and weird! Although SNL is on NBC and Conan is not exactly welcome there at the moment...
1. A) it is NBC B)It has been a talentless wasteland that NBC makes worse all the time for about a decade now.2. Maybe.3. Canceled Already because there is no God (Or perhaps that is the proof)4. I don't know why this show even exists.5. Canceled Already due to some seriously under par writing and not letting go of JD. Also the lighting is horrendous.6.How about The Daily Show?
Definitly Simpsons!
SNL would be a close second.
Better Off Ted could so benefit from Conan's current exposure in the media + he had a great episode on Andy Richter Controls the Universe which was a creation of BOT's Victor Fresco. That could open the door for the cross-over between the two shows which actually was planned if I am not mistaken.
Don't get it, the man is not that funny. The last time he was real funny was when he had a bag over his head.
The Simpsons is the only show on this list that makes any sense. That show was its best when Conan was writing for it. Though, from the way he described his time on The Simpsons I doubt Conan would want to go back. "(whip)write damn you!"
No! Keep Conan far far away from Better Off Ted... His type of comedy doesn not fit for that show. That show is smart humor.
He can't go back to working on someone elses show - he can create his own!
Unless Conan comes up with a miracle for Scrubs that I can't imagine, I don't think he can save the show. I don't care for any of the new characters of this season, and only watch it for the old ones, but that'll soon stop, because it's getting old fast...
He needs his own show. He's too talented to not do his own thing
Come back to the Simpsons CoCo! You could do another guest spot in addition to writing! "Sit perfectly still. Only I may dance!"
SNL for sure. this season sucks!
Coco, how about try a different writing venue, Like WWE/TNA Wrestling. It's pure gold for a valued comedy writer like him. He should also write for "How I Met Your Mother", it could use a Conan booster shot.
Two and a Half Men doesn't need saving, LET IT DIE!
I'd love to see him fix The Simpsons, SNL doesn't have a chance, TaHM needs more Chuck Lorre focus, not Conan, and Scrubs is dead, no one can save it.
He is too big for all of these.
How about he writes another TV show? He's a really good writer.
YES! He should go to SNL and make it better. I would love to see that
BOT is fine like it is!!!!!
Write? I'd rather see him act in BoT.
Get him started on Heroes season 5. The show's already a joke anyway.
You know, I think maybe advertising could save BOT. Because I hadn't heard of it til recently. And that was via this site.
Simpsons, SNL and Scrubs can't be saved, those three shows have gotten antiquated. Two and a half men is a lost cause
He can write a movie....act in it along with other goofheads like seth rogen, bradley cooper, paul rudd.....or he could simply sit at home and fill up his bath tub with $ bills and swim in it...
Conan can't save BOT for at least two reasons 1) he will be expensive so unless he decided to do pro bono work (which would be stupid) it will never happen and 2) its ratings suck so bad that he would have to bring most if not all of his viewers for the long term to have a noteworthy effect. Best of luck to BOT, but the odds are worse than one in a million (of Conan saving it).
First off anything NBC will not get the help of Conan--especially anything in Late Night TV, even if it is on Saturday. Better Off Ted is fantastic already and I also believe that ABC is pulling a FOX (Arrested Development) Scrubs is a lost cause. It needs to go away. Yet they somehow kept Jim Belushi employed well past the point anybody even knew that his show was still on. Ohh poor Jim. (not really) Two and a Half Men is too mainstream and they are at a point where they are not struggling for viewers. That would leave The Simpsons. I think that he has grown past this type of work, but to go for an episode, a reunion of sorts would be fun. For the amount of money he was given he should take a break and enjoy some time off.moreless
dhut up indian mom, we need conan
