Fox Cancels Touch

Okay, NOW you're canceled, Touch. Fox has ended the existential drama's run after two seasons, and let's be honest, the move was probably one season too late.

The news is unsurprising as the series from Tim Kring eventually ended up on Fridays, where it's beensuffering greatly. Its most recent episode grabbed a measly 0.6 rating among adults and just over 2 million viewers.

Touch starred Kiefer Sutherland as the father of a boy who had special abilities. Or something. Are any of you still watching it? Hey, the pilot was pretty good, but after that the show went way off the rails.

Fox has already picked up eight new series—four dramas and four comedies.

I'm getting kind of tired off all the shows that are cancelled without a proper ending. I think that this was a good show and I'm sad to see it end.

I enjoyed the show and am sorry to see it gone. One season too late???

Anyone remember the series, Touched by an Angel, This series feel of the same type of human reaction. Happy tears at the end of the program. It took me a couple of episodes to actually get a feel for the series, but I got it now, but too late. I believe, happy endings, and wishfull thinking, frightens most people. 'every time we blink our eyes, the world shifts.'

One season too late? really?! This was an amazing and interesting show. Fox sucks, and sometimes the quantity of user is less important than the quality of users so keep that in mind whenever you air a show that requires a bit more grey matter to understand and is not for your average dumb american.

i really enjoyed the characters and the general concept of the show however it lacked suspense and as much as everyone hates cliffhangers it's what keeps a show alive, there was nothing in the series that left me wanting more, i just watched it out of boredom. I completely forgot about this show after season 1 and only remembered now 2 years later after searching an imdb list. it's understandable that Fox would have to cancel it.

This is so disappointing. I finally find an interesting series to watch with amazing actors & this happens. It's just typical Hollywood Politics in play again. The program VPs @ Fox have the collective intellect of a gnat! Thanks a lot Guys!

WHAT A TRAGEDY! :-( Unbelievable! One of the only truly intelligent, often complexly woven and always interesting shows on TV. Our whole family watched it together. It was a show that we could relax and watch and then walk away feeling inspired about the good in humanity again. Of course, it never hurt that we always learned something too. Well, the only good that comes of this is my family no longer has to tune into FOX.

Touch had one of the best premieres in a long time, but the show was way too boring after that. No real intrigue or proper character development no matter how much it tried. Not sad about this news.

Actually season 2 is much better. If they had started it this week, perhaps it would have been saved. Many people found the first season NOT exciting enough. Season 2 is much more exciting. I hoped the kid pick up another series. He was very good !

Enjoyed the pilot but Touch was the epitome of one trick pony. Tedious in the extreme I gave up after 6 episodes and I was being generous cause of Kiefer.

Im done with fox, i will no longer be watching anything that is published through Fox. Take your network and show it up your arse Murdoch. DONE!

Fringe got 2 more seasons than it deserved. I forgave FOX somewhat for the Firefly fiasco. Also FOX gave us Prison Break and House, so shut it.

I don't think Fringe deserved only two seasons: they could have kept going. The Firefly "fiasco" I've forgiven because we got Castle instead. House was ready to retire, once he and Cuddy slept together, I gave up on the show. Oh well. The only thing I REALLY watch on Fox anymore, indeed, the only thing I DVR anymore from Fox is Bones. And anyway, I WAS still watching Touch -- I loved it!

When the show was first announced, I told myself: "I like Kiefer Sutherland a lot, but I'm not gonna watch a show about some stupid kid." Show should have never existed.

"Touch" was not the best show I have ever seen but it was not terrible either. Kiefer Sutherland did a very good job. He helped make the show worth watching. The series got off to a slow start but as time went on it did get better. The current (and now final) season was better than the first in that it was more entertaining and the new characters introduced this season were well written and developed. In the end I am happy at least that Fox gave the show two full seasons.

I just get fed up by the disrespect from networks who are fully aware of their cancellations. GIVE US A RESPECTFUL ENDING to any series that ends with a cliff hanger!!!

ooh! this makes me sad..I love this show..I will miss Touch. I just wish the scheduling people and the marketing people at Fox could just sometime sit for a talk..before they ruin a good show and eventually orchestrate its demise.. Not cool Fox.

It certainly didn't help that there seemed to be months between airings.
You can't expect a show to build an audience if no one know if and when it will be on again.

I enjoyed the show a lot as well. Why is it that these TV executives cancel shows at the first sign of rating slip? They could be cancelling a potential 6 or 7 season show!!!!! I agree Placebo...bring back 24! Did you know its on Audience channel 101 if you have Directv (reruns), but still great to watch.

Tim Kring is a fool. He always deliver a great pilot and a great idea, and then he just want to put so many things, so many complex things in a TV Show. I enjoy this show, but i was waiting for the hammer.

Next time, hire Tim Kring to do the pilot, and then deliver the show to another capable person.

Tim Kring put together a great first season, just like Heroes. Everything that happened after that (in both Heroes and Touch) was a disaster. It's like the ideas run out after a few episodes, and then it just unravels into a mess of boring.

The show didn't go off the rails, it just got better and better when it got a bigger plot. This show will be missed. :(

I was in the seeming minority of folks who enjoyed S1. Sure, it was emotionally manipulative but I really didn't mind getting played for a sucker. (I can't /always/ be a hard-hearted hater.) It also had Gugu, so there was that. ;-) The changes made in S2 weren't much to my liking but I still stuck with it. It also had Maria, so there was that.

Hoping for no cliffhanger, but expecting that not to be the case.

Steve Moffat keeps making shows. You wanna see heartbreak, watch one of HIS shows. Truly. However, his fan base is so huge (especially since he got Doctor Who) he'll keep making stuff. And breaking his fans hearts. And we know he'll do it. And we watch anyway.

Both seasons 1 and 2 of Touch were excellent. The show was excellent. The acting was excellent. In other words, I loved it.

Good premise. Bad execution. Boring Episode Writing. Not even Jack Bauer can save the mess, sadly.

I really like the first season of Touch. The interconnectedness of random people from around the world was really fun to watch. This season has been more like Jack Bauer. I'm just glad its getting an ending, hopefully tomorrow's finale is an ending.

I actually liked season 1. But season 2 was a mess, specially with that annoying Lucy character. I think the show couldn't survive it.

Really sad what happened with the show. I loved the pilot and was so excited about the series, but it just never seemed to match my expectations after ep 1. Watched all of season 1, but didn't have any interest to head back for season 2. Too many shows I like more.

I've been watching it from the start and it's one of my favorite shows. Didn't even realize it was having trouble. Some of the reactions sound like BS to me. Doesn't sound like people watching the show watched it regularly. I liked the direction it was taking.

I'll see it through but at the moment it's a feat of endurance to sit through an episode. Season 2 has ended up being clearly inferior to Season 1 but the slow has steadily declined since the pilot anyway.

The idea was great, and I've watched every episode (even though most sat in my DVR for weeks before I had the courage to watch it) but the acting and the relationships were atrocious. I love Kiefer Sutherland but his heavy mouth breathing in between every spoken word and how they had him constantly say the same things to his kid of disbelief, even though he know everything the kid did was for a reason and worked out perfectly, drove me bonkers. Thankfully it's over and my compulsion to finish what I start is done with this series.

Will they air the season finale? They can't leave us like this.

The finale, "Leviathan," will air as scheduled this Friday. The only question is whether it'll be a never-to-be-resolved cliffhanger. I hope they saw the (clear) writing on the wall from a long way off and at least attempt to wrap everything up,

And after removing all those minorities from the first season, too. Dunno what happened there. Maybe if the dad had put a damn bell on the frickin' kid..

I enjoyed it overall, and I like shows that I can watch while doing other things, but the show was pretty stupid. Mostly their behaviors, and it hurt my heart to see Jack Bauer suck so hard pretty much every week. Oh well. To ashes.

Side note: I dare someone to tell me the kid doesn't look exactly like Walter from Fringe.

hahahaha I cannot accept your challenge... Walter or Walternate hitched a ride with an Observer, and they used his DNA to create this kid.

At least give it some closure no cliffhanger, close it all properly, I think that should become standard of all shows canceled to get a proper ending

The pilot of this show was one of the most amazing episodes of anything I've seen. But I watched maybe two other episodes of this show since, I guess I made the right decision.
