Fox Officially Cancels Breaking In and I Hate My Teenage Daughter

Remember that little tiny sliver of hope that was just barely visible? It's been squashed! Fox has officially canceled comedies I Hate My Teenage Daughter and Breaking In after pulling both from its schedule months ago, says The Hollywood Reporter. The surprise level on this news is somewhere between a zero and a one.

Breaking In now carries the dubious distinction of getting canceled twice after miraculously surviving its first cancellation last May, when it was resurrected in hopes of energizing a Fox comedy block. But since I'm a glass-is-half-full kind of guy, I prefer to think that it got ordered to series twice! The bright side: Look at it! More importantly, this means the Christian Slater and Bret Harrison curses are still very much in play.

Jaime Pressly's I Hate My Teenage Daughter never really stood a chance, coming out of the gate beneath a cloud of critical hate. The show pulled in poor ratings, and Fox shuffled it around its schedule before finally yanking it for good in March.

The two shows join Alcatraz and The Finder in the Fox cancellation pile, where Terra Nova welcomed them with open arms. Fox is still determined to set up a comedy block, and yesterday ordered the new comedies It's Messy, The Goodwin Games, and Ben & Kate.

Wow, look at all the canceled Fox shows, 8 in this article alone! (I'm counting the 3 new shows for next season since we all know what Fox will do - you aren't surprised when your out-of-control dog begs and begs to go in the bedroom and then you let him and he tears up all the pillows for the 25th time.)

I hate my teenage daughter should have never become a tv series... it couldn't progress any further... a 1 hour tv movie would be enough

I think I'm done with Fox. There is not ONE show I watch with them. Fox, let me introduce you to CBS. I think you two will like each other.

And the Megan Mullally curse is just beginning.

I agree, you can lay this cancellation at her feet. Every time she was on screen it was cringe worthy. They should have just left it be or kept the British girl.

Screw you, FOX, for totally ruining Breaking In.

You were somehow able to take a show I like and didn't want to see end and turn it into a show I dislike and could now care less that it's canceled.

Im actually upset to see Breaking In get canned. I enjoyed it. It was different from a lot of the other comedies out there. I knew it would go down though. Fox cant keep a good show if they were able to see 10 year into the future.
