Fox Renews Bones for Season 9

One of Fox's most consistent performers will give the network some peace of mind for at least one more season: Bones has been renewed for a ninth season of flirty forensic investigations. The network announced the renewal at its TCA session this morning.

I wish I could tell you more about the details of the renewal, but all we really got was, "Hey you! We renewed Bones!" (There's no word on whether Season 9 might be the show's last.) After doing a little forensic investigating of our own, we can assume the series will be back next fall for a full 22 episodes, and at some point Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz will make goo-goo eyes at each other.

Bones is currently in its eighth season, and Fox would like to remind you that the second half of that eighth season begins on January 14 with a two-hour episode that sees Booth and Brennan go undercover as professional competitive dancers. Well of course they do.

Best news of the day! Bones has been my favorite show for a number of years now and it's nice to know it will be back. The current season has been amazing - especially the 9/11 episode.

Glad. I never been a die hard fan of the show...as with other forensic shows, and perhaps the quality isn't the same as previous seasons, but they still got it...sometimes.
It's the only show that made me cry last year ( the veteran's day episode ) and I don't cry easy and I hoping more episodes like that in the future.

And I'm not from USA, so 9/11 doesn't affect me as much as it does to you. It's a clear example that the cast and the writters still got it and can give wonderful performances.

This show got old about 4 seasons ago...oh well. Fans of it will love the renewal and it doesn't look like any good new shows got the axe on Bones' behalf, so win-win in that regard.

i love this show and it still for me has the sparkle,Not as much as if did but every season starts slow then suddenly we see the genius that is the show and i love it. So what they're together name one other show that can say that they still survived the relationships of the main characters and overcome huge obstacles to even have a child together. There will not be the moonlighting effect when Bones the show will die, it's not about who they are and what they do, it's about them being good at their jobs enough to make me cry or be sad or even get angry. I can't wait for the rest of season 8 and the new season ahead so glad fox agree with me on atleast one show.

Wow, Fox must have zero ideas for new shows. Bones should have ended when they had to make up her pregnancy in the show.

This is definitely good news for FOX. Why!? It's the only FOX drama that draws in millions of viewers every Monday night in it's time slot. Especially when it's going up against the likes of HIMYM and Dancing with the Stars when its on.

I still enjoy the characters but Bones is no longer a must see for me. The stories have become boring.

I was fading last year when it became apparent they had no interest in the cases and each episode was another excuse to teach each other a new lesson about being loving parents, spouses, brothers, friends, etc. Can't a case ever be a case again? Instead of an exploration of the character's dysfunctional pasts and how their lives are made better with true friends and loyal family? Then that finale happened. For some reason the generic nature of the uber-bad villian bored me silly- and of course the point was still about being good friends and family.

I thought season 8 was gonna be it's last season... I mean, with almost everyone getting in love, and pretty close to the place of 'perfection', isn't about time? It has been 8 years for Iluvatar's sake!!

I stopped watching when they became a couple (well, when she got pregnant) - I wasn´t interested in the romance part, but since they were together, a lot of the funny comments were gone and the conversations became more dull. And as other said, the cases were kind of repeats. So it was over for me. I loved the show because of the light tone and the funny cases, it was a quality easy watch. But that is gone for me. But it must be good news for a lot of people anyways.

Bones used to be my favourite TV show. I had collected seasons 1-5 on DVD. Even though I still watch the current season, I kinda want it to stop now. Almost every character in the show is married and have children. Bones and Booth are already together and have a child. What is left? Of course there will always be cases involving a corpse of bones, but there is no way they can still make them interesting without repeating old cases.

It would be nice if they actually introduced a new permanent cast member (not a squintern). That would possibly make things more interesting. Also, David Boreanaz is starting to look really old.

I would also like to add, I believe Body of Proof's Megan Hunt is much closer to the Bones Brennan of the Kathy Reichs books than Bones from the show.

is the rating good for this show ?
i liked it before when it was interesting , but now its the same crimes. same bones , same old same old ..

David Boreanaz is the main reason that made me watch this show at the first place ..
but still there are somethings in the show that doesn't make sense

Didn't they go undercover as competitive dancers or something before? This seems really familiar.
