Can you hear that? It’s the sound of Fringe fans collectively breathing a sigh of relief. After weeks of uncertainty, and a move to the Friday "death" slot on Fox, the sci-fi show has finally been renewed.
The news emerged on Twitter today when executive producer Joel Wyman wrote: “Fringe was picked up!!!! Thanks Fringedom!” Fox later confirmed this, adding the fourth season pick-up is for a full 22-episode order.
The new slot hasn’t been too unkind to Fringe. Despite last week’s episode hitting a season low--believed to be down to a schedule clash with March Madness--it remains Fox’s best-performing Friday show in years. Whether it will remain in that slot next season is not yet known.
How will you be celebrating the news?
Fringe’s second season continues in the UK on Sky1 next Wednesday at 10pm.
