Fox Sets Summer Premieres for So You Think You Can Dance, Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?, and More

Summer will be here before you know it, which means it's nearly time for a new season of So You Think You Can Dance. The reality competition series' 12th season—its first with new judges Paula Abdul and Jason Derulo—will premiere Monday June 1 at 8pm with a revamped format that pits accomplished street and stage dancers against each other, Fox announced Monday.

The network also scheduled a handful of other reality debuts, including the Season 6 premiere of MasterChef on Wednesday, May 20 at 8pm and the return of the Jeff Foxworthy-hosted game show Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? on Tuesday, May 26 at 8pm.

Fox is also adding yet another reality competition series with an awkwardly punctuated title to its lineup. Hosted by Tom Papa, the quiz show Boom! challenges players to diffuse a series of ticking "slime-bombs" by cutting wires related to the correct answers to various questions. Right answers will earn them money, while wrong ones will leave them (and part of the audience) soaked in anything from guacamole to mashed potatoes. Boom! will, uh, "go off" on Thursday, June 25 at 8pm.

MasterChef, So You Think You Can Dance, Are you Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?, and Boom! join Fox's summer schedule alongside the previously announced event series Wayward Pines, which premieres Thursday, May 14 at 9pm.

Paula and Jason aren' t that great, but Paula is improving along the way than Jason. I think Paula will be returning next season and then banish and Jason will get removed after this season ends.

I know Mary shouldn't have left, but the reason why she left because she was probably getting too popular and paid too much than the other judges, due to her broadened latin-ballroom talent, analysis and dance routine experiences last year.

Where's the scripted programming at, FOX? What happened to your 'all year round' TV development?
