Fox's fall begins mid-September

tca_header.jpg

Ask any normal person when the fall starts, and they'll generally say, "During the September equinox, when the sun crosses the equator and nights are just as long as days." OK, most people will probably just say sometime in September, but for those who worship the boob tube, the season of fall begins when television network execs say it does.

Fox unveiled its fall lineup yesterday, and according to its programming directors, late August will be the beginning of the end of summer, and fall will really kick into gear on September 17.

The reality specialist will roll out its bread and butter on August 30, with the series premiere of the grade-school beatdown Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader at 8 p.m. On September 8, justice will be served with the season premiers of Cops and America's Most Wanted: America Fights Back.

Things really get cooking a week later when the first of Fox's five new fall shows debuts. Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay flambés, skewers, and filets restaurant kitchens and their staff in Kitchen Nightmares, which makes the menu on September 13. The following day, the reality-ish music show Nashville also makes its series premiere by following aspiring musicians around Music City as they try and make it big-time, like Kelly Clarkson big-time.

But what about Fox's scripted programs? The season premiere of Prison Break, followed by the series premiere of K-Ville, officially begins Fox's fall season on September 17, a day after the network broadcasts the 59th Primetime Emmy Awards.

Two days later sees the debut of Kelsey Grammer's new show Back to You, which will be followed by the season premieres of 'Til Death and Bones. The new season of House checks in on September 25, immediately after the series premiere of the immortal-cop drama New Amsterdam.

Fox's fall premiere dates are as follows:

I only see Prison Break, and I read "Emmy Awards" that's all I care this season for Fox. The schedule seems empty without The O.C. First catching up last season before I get to new episodes from Family Guy.

For me, I only see "Prison Break" and "New Amsterdam" that looks interesting. I also have my concerns of watching a new series on fox network fearing that it might be cancelled soon in to it. For that reason I will not be checking anything else out, plus there style of shows does not really do anything for me anyway. I'm still upset over what they did to an excellent action show like "Drive".

Want to see K-Town as that looks like a hit. New Orelans needs to be shown in a positive light IMHO!

Does this mean that Prison Break's hiatus' will be longer?

If it starts in september than i'll end in may like the rest of the shows instead of what it usually did starting in august and ending in april.
