Franklin & Bash, South Park, and the CMT Music Awards

What to watch on Wednesday, June 8.

We're doing it, you guys! We're halfway done with this week! But let's not celebrate too hard just yet—maybe just a tiny, secret celebration, like hugging a cat or eating a popsicle in the shower. You know, don't overdo it. Save that for Friday! Oh look, some shows:

SERIES PREMIERE, 9pm, TNT
Franklin & Bash
Guest-star Fred Willard (!!) appears in tonight's episode, during which everybody's favorite new lawyer bros suss out courtroom corruption in a case involving a sexy murderess. Objection: Too many '90s heart throbs. OVERRULED.

MIDSEASON FINALE, 10pm, Comedy Central
South Park
When Stan turns 10, his worldview starts to change. Is he too old and wise to continue hanging out with the other children? We'll learn the answers to that profound question and more in tonight's last new episode for a while!

SEASON 1 FINALE, 10:30pm, Comedy Central
Workaholics
Capping off a decent first season of this surprisingly not-terrible comedy, tonight's finale brings us a climactic confrontation between the titular trio of fratty slacker bros and a new CEO who wants to liquidate the company. They'll also confront some weed and boners, etc. (I'm guessing.)

REUNION SPECIAL, 10pm, MTV
Real World
Join host Maria Menounos as she grills the Las Vegas cast about their highly cerebral experiences in Sin City. Afterward, she'll grab a broom and shoo them all through a doggy door leading to the next season of The Challenge. Good luck, everyone!

SPECIAL, 8pm, CMT
CMT Music Awards
Kid Rock (middle name: Ugh) hosts this cable channel-specific awards show which couldn't possibly be as terrible as the ones over at MTV, right? Anyway, performers include Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, and Sugarland. [Thus concludes my Country Music Equal Time Obligations.]

SEASON 2 PREMIERE, 10pm, Science
Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman
First of all, GREAT TITLE. Second of all, GREAT SHOW! I am on the record as adoring the Science Channel, but this is a great show on its own—the no-brainer combination of Morgan Freeman and science narration just WORKS. In tonight's season premiere, Mr. Freeman's voice will guide us on a journey into the human brain, where we'll explore the question of whether there is life after death. DONE.
